I still prefer Yu-Na's Lark Ascending.
Caroline's 3F/3T looks improved. She's taken out the 3 Sal and replaced it with a 2 ax. Her triple loop looked iffy to me. Fell on the last flip and lutz.
Absolutely disastrous performance by Carolina so far. 2 falls and a bunch of popped jumps. Poor girl.

I prefer Lark Ascending too. I suspect they decided to go for less complicated choregraphy so Yu-na would hit the jumps...
But, I also think that Yu-na skated very, very, very slow, and her spiral positions weren't as nice as they were in the short.. I suspect something's seriously wrong with the ice.

I think Zhang has a good chance of making the GP final now!
Also, on the US front, Liang beat Czisny. Will see if this trends holds up during Nationals!

I thought Yu-na looked really, really nervous before her SP and she looked really really relaxed, skating really really slow, almost too slow in her LP. She had that "whatever" look from the minute she got on the ice. I read somewhere she practiced a lot for this program so her strategy was to not get nervous and ruin everything. Brian Orser said in an interview, "if she does her average, she'll win", especially since Yu-na made a mistake in her sp because she was too nervous.

My prediction was right too for the ladies!
How cool for Fumie Suguri to leap from 11th to 4th! Heartbreak again for Carolina Kostner! Caroline Zhang wins the silver! Yu-Na Kim showed why she's one of the top 3 in the world!!

I suspect the pressure might finally be getting to her, though. I wonder if she purposely chooses slow music for the LP so that she can skate slower and concentrate on hitting the jumps. Either way, it didn't help her much this time around.Poor Carolina. When she self-destructs, she really self-destructs.
I didn't think Yu-Na was particularly slow. However, her performance was a bit off - I didn't get that she had a sense of the music at all.
It won't be that easy. Both of the other two silver medalists got them with higher scores than hers, and Joannie Rochette's bronze score was higher too.

I'm glad she won on what seemed like a suspiciously terrible rink condition.
Whatever the issue was with other ladies didn't seem to affect her too much.
So I guess I will let the bows go now!

Well, I've noticed Carolina got huge PCS scores! I think that prevented her performance from being a total disaster. Good PCS scores really help skaters who screw up all their jumps. Had her PCS scores been just average, she would have not gotten the bronze.

I watched Yuna's practice clip, and it was much better.
I can tell that she was really tentative. Maybe the ice problem...you can see it's melting down.
