I red it on another board that odds Zhang going to final get higher if Yuna wins COR. Still depend on how Nakano and Joannie's standings are going to be.

I predicted silver for Caroline, and worried whether she'd have enough points for GPF. Her point totals are not especially high, although she should perhaps feel reassured that she's scoring similar to her results at an equivalent point in the last season, even though she's skating far below her potential (5 downgrades at SA, 2 falls at CoC).
Anyway, so the top four will probably go to Yu-na, Mao, Kimmie, and Miki. Then the last two spots will probably go to people with a silver and a bronze, and that probably means Caroline is competing with Yukari Nakano, Carolina Kostner, and Sarah Meier. I think she might slot in right behind Yukari for the 6th spot, given Carolina's inconsistency and Sarah's low scoring potential (plus she rarely does a completely clean program).
But boy, even if Carolina gets into the GPF on the last ticket, she's up against a phenomenally challenging field! This must be the toughest field at ladies' GPF ever!

I could be worng, but I don't think Caroline makes it.. Your also forgetting Joannie Rochette too. If in Russia, Joannie takes second, and Nakano takes third, well both girls could easily overtake Caroline in the standings. (Because Joannie placed third in Canada, and Nakano placed Second in Canada.)
Both Joannie and Nakano had higher total scores than Caroline too at Skate Canada, and it won't be hard for either of them to get higher scores than what Caroline got in China.
Then, there's Sarah, and you'd be foolish to count her out, because she's actually pretty consistent for her she lands 4 jumps at least, and doesn't really fall. She's even managed to beat Mao twice in a free skate because Mao crumbled and she didn't...
And well once again Caroline's scores didn't exactly set a high bar.
Who knows, but I think it will be hard for Caroline to make it..

Yuna will probably win COR. She skated her programs so well here. She looks to be in great shape and total control going into the competition.
Oops, I forgot about Joannie. If Yukari beats Joannie (let's say 65% probability?), then she will go to GPF, and Joannie is out of running, and it comes down to Caroline versus Sarah & Carolina for the 6th spot. If Joannie beats Yukari, then those two are both G+S, in competition with Caroline for GPF, and it will depend a lot on how everyone scores. Both Yukari's silver point total and Joannie's bronze point total beat out Caroline's scores by about 10 points, so they have a big advantage.
I guess I'll rooting for Yuna & Yukari at CoR.
Wow, Caroline's arms really bug me during her jumps, they're swinging all over the place. Especially in the lutz, it's not very good technique, not at all. But on a more positive note, that layback=
Does she also have a slight wrap in her free leg in some jumps???
Oh my.....poor Alissa. She can pull herself back together though; she's a fighter. Let's just hope she can pull it out at nationals.

Also those boys and girls retrieving the flowers and teddy bears off the ice!!!
They are so cute with those giants baskets.
However somebody should tell them not to crowd the camera when the score is being announced.
Poor YU NA wasn't even able to watch her winning scores

this is crazy. there really muct have been somthing wrong there. Maybe the air quality... the ice... i don't know. Caroline and Fumie got really lucky... they would never have medaled with performances like that in anyother situation. And fumie! come back story of the year!

Meier is in the driver's seat, methinks, for the 6th spot, followed by Zhang, Rochette, then Kostner. Rochette needs to outperform Nakano at Moscow to get in. Kostner needs something close to her personal best and to edge Meier at Sendai to get in.

The wonderful thing is that she has landed all four of her triple-triples. Besides having the highest scoring spins and spirals, I think that she also has many of the highest scoring jump elements.

It was a disaster. I was watching on the Korean feed and it was just a fall after the other (24 total deductions! 23 of them for falls! That's an average of 2 deductions per skater). Kostner's spirals, usually lovely, were a mess! Fumie almost medalling. After I saw Martinova's scores, I was like, well, she's not moving up, but clearly that changed. Alissa didn't have a single ratified triple jump and there was still someone behind her.
Kim has actually scored higher in the SP than some of the ladies here. She was lovely, btw. Clearly the class of the field.

We haven't seen Meier at all yet in this season, have we? So she's a total unknown. She might bring the '06 Sarah, or the '05 Sarah... Does anyone have any idea of how she's been skating lately? She may get silver in France (not much competition there) and also beats out Kostner & Sawada for silver in NHK, giving her a place in GPF.
The huge teddy beats were making the rounds. Evan got one as well, and so did the Zaretskis. When CCTV5 went from the replays to the kiss and cry, there was a cute moment where we first see Sasha Zaretski sitting next to a huge bear, and then Roman pops out from behind it!
I don't think anything beats to huge Garfield someone threw to Shen and Zhao last year though.
