We saw with the Olympics and Worlds that multiple falls won't land you off the podium.

)Me, too. It was in my hometown (Spokane, the Skating Capital of the NorthwestI remember, because I had tickets to see Sarah and then Sarah pulled out and Kwan filled in.
) There were big billboards of Sarah all over town. Then when she had to withdraw there was a big concern that there would be poor attendance without their Marquee lady.By the way, when I was in Spokane over the summer they were displaying big posters of Sasha, advertising Nationals.
Cohen undecided on whether to compete at Nationals
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
I don't think Michelle Kwan was ever undecided about Nationals, or Worlds if qualified. I think Michelle never committed to teh GP series, right? She took off 2 years, right? In 2003 she competed in one event, and then took off 2004 and 2005 to rest her injury?
I remember, because I had tickets to see Sarah and then Sarah pulled out and Kwan filled in.
I could speculate and say that I don't feel SAsha will be at Natls. Just a feeling. Hope she proves me wrong cuz I want to see her vs. Kimmie rematch.
You are correct Fossi. Michelle was always intent on going to Nats and Worlds ... it was just the GP that she chose to skip.
I would also say that I doubt we will see Sasha at Nats this year.
I think it will say next to squat.
I think she will look very pretty in her red God Bless America dress.
) and I bet the others will be taking this as an opportunity to refine for nationals.Cohen (and probably the other skaters as well) seems to be taking this seriously as a competition. In other words, I get the impression she categorizes this as a real competition so in other words what she skates here would count as "competitive programs".
sorryRight, I think that was it. It was just those darn Olympics that she was so vague about until late 2005 (typical her). But did that approach really work? She was always able to coast through Nats but seemed to be getting progressively worse at Worlds to the point where she was just off the podium at Worlds. You can argue that 4th is still decent out of 20 or 30 or whatever but the fact is by Kwan's standard that is not good at all. It was her first OTP finish in over 10 years, wasn't it? In other words, if Cohen wishes to take the same approach she needs to learn from MK.
