Compulsory Dance (merged threads)

But they won both by very little. It was less than two point's difference going into the FD. This is nearly six points difference! Plus DomShabs seem to be getting very high scores indeed whenever they skate clean....

Yeah, you are right. Told you, I know nothing about ice dance.

But six points in single or pairs skating are easily made up, isn't that possible here too?

I think so. This will be a new position for Del/Scho. Nerves may hit them hard and cause some fumbles. It is a big lead, but it is the biggest event of the year. Anything can happen.

It could be if Delobel and Schoenfelder makes the same mistake that Domnina and Shabalin did at Cup of China

Ok, looking at the scores, what happend to Canada?:eek:I expected W/P to be much higher. Canada will be lucky to hold onto 3 places for next year.

I am gutted that W/P are buried in the standings, I thought they had a chance of at least top 15. On a more optimistic note, compulsories do not seem to be their strong point so maybe they can make up some ground in the OD and FD.

Hann-McCurdy/Coreno are ahead of them too - same scenario as at Cdn nationals going into the OD, but I'm already wondering if H-McC/C might be Canada's new #2 after this competition????

As for D/S vs B/A, I can't wait for the next dance!!!

Not as easily as singles or pairs, but it can be made up -- if DelShoes also makes some mistakes.

I don't know -- won't C&P be skating as seniors next year? I think they may be the new #2.

And actually they did a great job. To all those who say that K/N are not the great dancers and get credits only with a 'friendly' panel - I guess you are totally wrong. This was a very good tango.

I love Khokhlova and Novitski. I think their FD is the best FD of the season

Realistically, DelSchoe would have to fall as well, in one or both of their remaining programs for B/A to still be in contention for gold. Six points is a huge deficit in ice dance when neither team has really blown the other away this season. I think B/A will be fighting to get onto the podium.

Wow! Virtue/Moir into second place! Just gave them a real boost for a possible medal finish.

For those who were saying that K/N will be ALWAYS set in front V/M with this judge panel - I guess you were proved to be wrong.

Wow! Virtue/Moir into second place! Just gave them a real boost for a possible medal finish.

V&M were expected to medal the moment D&S withdrew, and with B&A falling, the had better finished in 2nd in the CD

I think It's more than possible to medal at this worlds, I just hope pressure doesn't get to them. I'd say 2nd place is very possible at this time.
