Now that we’ve seen some skating this season, and the Grand Prix events are just around the corner, it’s time to make some crazy predictions.

Who are your dark horses? Who do you think will win? What do you think will happen? Who is the one that nobody thinks will win but actually has a decent shot? What are your wildest dreams?

Anything is fair, as long as it’s somewhat realistic, and not a bad thing (ie. injury).

At the end of the season, we can come back to this thread and see what actually was true and what was completely far off!

Liza continues to get the highest PCS all season. She is awarded these points solely because she is the Empress and looks good in her costumes.

Bolero wins the Olympics but it isn't Kamila's it is the weird and wonderful Sholero. Jason Brown comes in second after all the other men fall 10 times each.

In ice dance, both S/K and the favorites P/C fall numerous times but still manage to make the podium. The judges swear there was no fixing ;)

After seeing Chock/ Bates FD, a group of aliens make contact with earthlings only to tell Bates that they would never wear clothing that ugly.

Moskvina grows tired of her pairs teams not performing to her expectations. She gets back together with Mishin and they win pairs gold.

Exhausted from all the work he is doing after Eteri elopes to Hawaii with her new husband of 21, Daniil decides the easiest thing to do will be to have all of his skaters skate to exactly the same music as their rivals in both programs. He also gives them the exact same choreo. The judges pretend not to notice and continue to give his skaters the highest scores in choreo and interpretation.

( You did say crazy predictions 😧)

My wildest dreams would be Olympic Gold for Loena and an Olympic medal for the new Spanish Pair Laura and Marco. Mark Kondratiuk also gets an Olympic medal and becomes the most talked about artist in recent history after the Games

The most crazy thing: Ice Dance has the most improbable outcome ever: both RD and FD are tied. One team has the highest TES in the RD, the other in de FD but the points are the same in both.

Edit. I forgot all about the Team Event. Here's another wild dream: Italy gets the gold.

Wild predictions:

Tuktamysheva makes the Russian Olympic team

Green/Parsons make the podium at US Nationals, and also go to the Olympics

Jimmy Ma’s anime FS goes viral, inspiring new, young audiences everywhere to take an interest in the sport, and skating becomes widely popular all over the world—thanks, Jimmy

Free, high-quality streams of skating competitions appear, and all programs stay readily available on You Tube or equivalent

Keegan Messing, Olympic medalist.

Judges finally realize their craziness (and/or get their much needed eye glasses) and H/B win Nationals and go on to cover themselves in Olympic glory. They then admit they have been dating in secret all this time and continue to skate until they are 40.

Gracie Gold, Olympic team.

I propose two sets : pick your favourite (like for A, WOW emoji for B LOL)

Scenario A
Han Yan qualifies for the Olympics.
Patrick Chan, seeing Jason's success without quads decides to get out of retirement. Judges who have been giving PCS like candy all season have to react properly. Chan maxes out on PCS as judges go crazy about him skating to his 4 seasons 2.0. He wins two gold medals, singles and team event..
Kostornaia is not happy. Her 3a is not stable. Chan's comeback makes her vivaldi program look even more empty. She misses qualification for the team.
Kostner qualifies for Italy with only 3 triple jumps (Flip, Toe and Salchow) but manages to win a bronze at the team event thanks to overall great performances from all members of the Italian team.
Yuzuru pops jumps in the SP and does not make the free skate. Twitter breaks down
James and Radford win a medal in pairs but not without going through a tough phase. It is only when they admit to themselves that they need new programs and new choreography that it starts working out. They leave Julie Marcotte and beg Meagan to train them.
Gabrielle Daleman returns to her glorious days and make the team. She retires after the games.
Mishina and Galliamov do not win the gold in pairs. Nobody understands why until a French judge leaves China in a hurry after the event. The IOC is upset. The ISU is also upset. A new scoring system is born.

Scenario B
The international community decides not to go to the games. China doesn't care and still holds a big event with competitions.
Russia decides to send their athletes now that it's no longer the official olympic games and they can represent Russia and get their anthems sung. However, the biggest surprise comes when Han Yan wins the men's event...Russians are upset about the judging... After they sweep the top ten (yeah... no quota was imposed) in ladies, they feel okay... but then Sui Han win the pairs barely in front of Mishina and Galliamov who really outskated them. Nobody understands why until a French judge leaves China in a hurry after the event. The IOC is upset. The ISU is also upset. A new scoring system is born.

@Seven Sisters

My 15 yo who lives, breathes and draws anime, but she would politely watch anything that the skaters would do to anime music (like Tanaka), and she watched Yuri on Ice, and that’s about that. Oh, she was also seriously disappointed in Tokyo Olympic opening ceremonies as it was not anime enough 🤣🤣🤣
