Is it just me or does there seem to have been a recent shift in his self-perception? If I'm not mistaken this is the first time he's referring to himself as a professional skater, fully embracing the concept. He sounds so inspired and ambitious! I can see this leading to even more greatness. He's capable of so much when he feels passionate about a project and it sounds like the Hyoen experience sparked his desire to bring his own vision to, even re-invent the pro skating scene in Japan. Oh, this "reborn" Daisuke is so exciting!

Agree!! It's just my opinion, of course, but I think he started to change a bit after Ice Legends: chatting with Mao in that famous video he was so enthusiastic about "Le Poeme" ensemble and expressed his desire to perform something different from usual, traditional Japanese ice shows. He was talking of "Romeo and Juliet" on ice.
And yes, after his coming back, day after day, challenge after challenge now he is (or at least looks) more self-confident when he talks about his achievements out of his comfort zone. For sure HYOEN2017 ignited his mind and now... this Dai-rocket is going to left Earth to reach the stars!!!
And he's being showered with even more praise! After kabuki actor Emiya Ichikawa and the choreographer of his eclectic kabuki/Hip Hop dance expressed their admiration for his outstanding talent, Somegoro-san is joining the Dai-love:

I just jumped in here to post same link!

No escape: any one who has the chance to work with Dai, immediately starts to love him.
I use to follow this Chinese fan blog
http://d1sk0218.blog.fc2.com/
The blogger translate into Chinese Dai's quotes from inteviews, on paper and on tv. It's difficult, but with on-line translators it's possible to have an idea of what he said. Always keeping in mind that's automatic translation, of course!! With regards to the recent radio talk-show, according to blogger's translation, prior to the interview, the commentator said that he talked with TV colleagues working with Dai and they all praised a lot not only his commitment to job but most of all his nice and friendly attitude.
An article (in Japanese) about Kristi Yamaguchi's "Golden Moment" charity show, taking place in September, accompanied by a nice picture of Dai and Kristi:

Thanks!!!! I saw the pic on twitter and I was wondering where it came from. I understood (from Dai's hair-cut

) that it was back in 2016 during Stars Greetings in Hawaii. Nice pic, indeed!!!
