so Daniel got 1 gp (Finlandia) does it mean that his problems are solved?
Last season he had spots but his problems kept unsulved I think?so Daniel got 1 gp (Finlandia) does it mean that his problems are solved?
Nothing has been said. The two most likely options, given that he has been given an GP, seem to be 1) case dropped or 2) he was given a 1 year ban which was backdated and finishes before the Finnish GP. If the case had been dropped, I would have thought Daniel or his management would have put out a statement to that effect because they would surely want to clear his name. Even if he had a short ban, a statement to the effect of "this is what happened... I thought my details had been updated and was unaware I had missed tests, I absolutely would not do anything to cheat, I am really sorry that this happened and understand that it might look suspicious, I have learnt from the situation and am really keen to help with raising awareness of antidoping issues and requirements... etc" would look better than the current silence. The silence is what makes people question things and doubt him.so Daniel got 1 gp (Finlandia) does it mean that his problems are solved?
My take, in the absence of any declaration, was that the case was still being processed, and the Italian federation had a hope that there would be a short ban or no ban?Nothing has been said. I'm not sure that he would have a GP spot if that was the case? He isn't eligible based on world ranking, season's best score or world championships placement from last season. He must have got the spot on the returning skater rule, but that can only be done once in his career. If the case isn't resolved and he withdraws from the GP, then I think that would be classed as him forfeiting his spot this season and I don't think he would then count as a returning skater next season? My take, in the absence of any declaration, was that the case was still being processed, and the Italian federation had a hope that there would be a short ban or no ban?
This is true. But then, if he had got a short ban, while the Italian anti-doping agency had required a two-year ban, his team would just have to communicate in the line "our arguments were heard and Daniel Grassl's honesty was acknowledged but a ban couldn't be avoided altogether, of x months starting yy/zz/ww." And all would be in place to fastest and best oblivion.I'm not sure that he would have a GP spot if that was the case? Things aren't really making sense at the moment, and I don't think that is helping his image/reputation. Honestly is usually better in the longer-term than pretending an issue/problem doesn't exist. In the absence of a statement from Daniel or his team, a lot of people will remain suspicious and I don't think that is helpful to him.
Welcome to Golden Skate! As we say here, post long and post often!Missed Daniel past season since I saw him 2018 I was really interested how far he can go. It was always so nice to meet him live and I think he deserves more good things than he got last year. It would be good if he or his team made a statement about that situation with Adams and whereabouts checking. I have a feeling he has what to tell and everything is not terrible as some people think wishing him the best only
Thank youWelcome to Golden Skate! As we say here, post long and post often!
I missed watching Daniel skate last season, too. I was surprised to see him on the Grand Prix list this year and hope that means that he and his team have been able to resolve the situation, whatever it was.

I think Daniel is not quite ready for the competition in September, maybe he will start doing challengers later. But he has a small domestic jump competition on September 1, he will do 4S and 4 Lo.and now Daniel has 2 GP assignements it's weird though that he (and the other italian men) is not listed on Lombardia Trophy entry list
