Daniel Grassl (born 4 April 2002 in Merano, Italy) is an Italian figure skater, competing in men's singles events at both the junior and senior levels. He won silver at the 2022 European Championships and placed fourth at the 2020 European Championships. At the junior level, he won bronze at the 2019 World Junior Championships.

He has won ten senior international medals, including gold at three ISU Challenger Series events (2018 CS Inge Solar Memorial – Alpen Trophy, 2019 CS Asian Open Trophy, 2019 CS Ice Star) and is a three-time Italian national champion (2019, 2020, 2021).

Today, at Bratislava, it was awesome :eek:
Clean program, very interesting spin positions, with the highest base value of the competition, even over Gogolev :eeking:

I'm very hyped for the free, with those quads incoming :yahoo:

Omg, I absolutely loved his skate! I didn’t watch Junior Men last season so I didn’t know him but now I’m already a fan!

The lineup for the last three events still need to be announced, but he got from our fed two JGP events on both the last two years, so he will surely get it another one.

It is our Plushy, after all :laugh:

I don't follow juniors at all, so I haven't watched his JGP performances of previous years, but someone posted a video of him from Italian Nationals one year, where he had (presumably his) this cat in the kiss & cry. Cats are always a quick way into my good graces.;) Also, I've seen him doing Plushy's Italian show these, I think, two last years. And of course I saw his quad video in the European Men's thread.

But then I just saw the video of his SP... My goodness! If he's got the tech as well, then he's got everything. When can he move up to seniors?

It is already 16 years old, so we can also see him at the next euros, along with Rizzo, if everything goes well. Italy has two spots, for them.

Then he need to rival Rizzo, for the only world spot, but right now we still can think to see Rizzo at senior worlds and Grassl at junior worlds.

I remembered watch his short program the day before yesterday, and it was so impressed! Now in my time zone I just get up . Trying to search his FS program somewhere.....

Good. He looks ready for seniors to me. His confidence & expressiveness. Also, a small note - I really like his jump landings, how he holds them for a moment, and his free leg position. So many skaters just plop down the free leg as soon as possible and skip off to do other things - it just looks very… sloppy. I like it when the jump is made to look like a highlight.

Check out his competitive history in the OP. Daniel has been skating in senior competitions for quite some time. He did Golden Spin last season, so Nepela is not his first Challenger Series event.
