Daria Panenkova

She is with Eteri since 2016. On her older pictures (age 12) she looked nearly the same as now. So she gained her proportions pretty early. Maybe that will be some advantage for her in comparision to girls who shall struggle with growing later.

Has there been any news about her moving to seniors? She was named in the Russian national junior team but I don't think it means that much because if I recall there has been cases where a skater moved to seniors despite the fact that he/she had been named in the national junior team. Nevertheless all the top skaters who we know will move to seniors were named in the senior team, like Erokhov, Pavliuchenko / Khodykin and Boikova / Kozlovskii.

She really should move to seniors now because next season could very well be her window of opportunity. After next season she would have move to seniors along with atleast three super juniors and Gubanova. If she would move to seniors now she would be the top junior moving to seniors assuming Nastia Gubanova will stay in juniors.

I don't see why she shouldn't move up considering she's guaranteed 1 spot and will get 2 most likely, and if she stays junior and gets a guaranteed one for the next season, she'd probably only get 1 because of the 4A

Hopefully she will but since no-one has heard anything about that I guess we will have to wait and see until the GP assignments are online.

So Dasha has received two GP spots...at Skate Canada and Helsinki. I am so happy for her, really well-deserved :luv17:

So we will definitely see her in seniors. She'll have strong competition in both events, but she is a brave girl :) But why we haven't heard about her programs yet? Please don't tell me she stays with her old SP/ FP :noshake:

Agreed. I hope Daniil comes up with something that will allow her to stand out more among her competitors than last season's programs did. She doesn't have the natural charisma on the ice that Medvedeva or Kostornaya do, but I think there's a flair for the dramatic in there.

I am so happy for Dasha! And I hope she will turn some heads and beat some of Wakaba, Carolina, Daleman, etc. She has it tough with back-to-back events, but I know she can do it.

Also: I am so tired of people overlooking her. They keep on saying that nothing will come of her or don't even mention her, but she's now Eteri's #2 and the rule changes favor her since she has huge jumps that aren't prone to UR. I'm interested to see how much bigger they get without the rippons and the full backloading too. She really can make a splash in seniors, but I hope Daniil gives her time and attention since her programs were flat out awful last year and she needs good programs to make a truly wonderful senior debut

I'm not sure if she gives up the rippons :scratch2: She was really satisfied with an impact rippons had made on her jumps.

It's an order apparently: juniors first (as they start their season earlier), then Alina (as no 1) and then, perhaps, Daria. Hope Alina's Carmen is ready soon. I have a bad feeling though that they keep her last season SP and recycle Zhenya's FS (as performed just once) to not bother a lot :slink: I really wish they prove me wrong.

I thought about this, too, and I think these changes can help Dasha receive better scores. Her jumps are really impressive, she is so constant, and with a program that can highlight her strenghts I believe she's gonna have a great senior GP debut.

P.S. Spirals I love your new avatar pic :luv17:

I've just rewatched her free program from JGP final. She definitely was underscored, her jumps were exclusive and it was fluid, clean skate. I think it was a pity she skated first, so the judges left some space for other competitors. I wish luck to Dasha for the upcoming season.

Any news on her programs? I have the bad feeling that one of them will be from last season but hope no. It will be difficult for her to reach the podium no PCS boost for her apparently. She is the quite fighter, so wish the best ...
