Autotranslation of interview with Dasha about China:

19 years is the best time to experiment and take something new from life.
💫Daria Usacheva told Match TV about life and coaching in China
✨How I made the decision:I was invited to work in Beijing. There were doubts, but 50/50. Half of the points were for, half were against. It was difficult to decide to leave my loved ones for some time. It is difficult for me, I am an emotional person, an extrovert. It is hard for me, and now I miss these people very much. My beloved dog Cindy, work, children with whom I worked remained in Moscow, I also miss them very much.
✨About life in China:I really like China. I've been here for about a month and a half. It's very beautiful and clean here, the roads are great. There's no dirt on the streets. It's true that it's very hot here in the summer. I don't like that. It's been 40 degrees. But life here is rich and interesting. Although I spend most of my time skating and at work, I never miss an opportunity to go for a walk somewhere.
✨About the place of work:I am currently working at the Passion Skating Club. There are a lot of children here. We have already done some good work with them. We have even learned new elements, adjusted some things, fixed others. The work is in full swing. Very active, a lot of work. The children are very hard-working, hard-working. We are already planning to set up a program for August, we are working on it now. We are preparing for competitions. They are here all the time, all year round. And the children always need to be in great shape, to be ready.

Maybe the students are learning Russian...
That would be my guess, too.

Thats still a huge task I imagine. Is it popular to learn Russian in China? Especially for sports? I see a lot of Russian coaches going to China. Must be good money there. I cant imagine them learning Russian well enough for coaching. Maybe if its for young kids learning basics but they wouldn't need Dasha there for that and the girl in the picture above seems older.

I also presume the necessary dictionary is limited and consists mostly of technical terms so it should be manageable on both sides to some level.

You have to use a lot of advanced abstract vocab & grammar to explain the proprioception behind athletics

For start I think some hint card is enough, with words like edge, outside, inside, jump, spin, glide, fast, slow, high, low, bend and so (apart from technical terms like Axel, Lutz that I suppose are universal). Also she is not the coach on the ice I suppose, the others might explain what is missed on one side or the other. After all it works for some time already so they surely have some way of communication.
