Davydenko band

If you're not on vacation yet, have a wonderful summer camp mood with our boy scout twins.

Not everyone likes the sea, many people like to relax in the mountains, on hot springs, and if there is Lake Baikal, the largest and most beautiful lake in the world... Happy childhood for these kids.

Happy birthday to the unusual and charming twins Dmitriy and Timofei Shelkovnikov! Good luck in everything, good health and success in mastering trixels and quads!

(They are 13 y.o. in the photo)

Since today is the day of the inventors of the Slavic alphabet, the brothers Kirill and Methodius, as well as International Brothers Day (not sure, but maybe), we can congratulate all brothers in figure skating. And since today is a very fortunate Wednesday, when I usually remember the beginning of the junior career of the Davydenko Band... in short, we have enough reasons to talk about the Shelkovnikov brothers again.

Yes, today I will not choose one of them, let's remember they skating when they were just starting their junior careers and lived in Krasnoyarsk. Welcome back to 2019-2020 season!
Dmitriy

Arseniy Dimitriev performs an axel on the floor right at his prom. The skater is a skater!

Congrats on your graduation, Arseniy!
Good luck with your new adult life, your university studies, and so on. Ah, my juniors are growing up so fast... 🥲

It's Sunday, the offseason continues, my challenge "When it all just started" is not over. So it's time to remember the junior skating of the Davydenko Band coaches. Let's take a break from the spring heat and dive into the chilly Christmas days with the music of Tchaikovsky and the magical skating of junior Alexandrina Degtyareva in the 2012-2013 season.

This kid makes a terrific impression, I really wished I had been cheering for her at the time.

It's still Wednesday, so I have time to do my challange "When it all just started". Today I show you little junior Ivan Ramzenkov at his first important competition. The 2018-2019 season, the Zhuk Memorial.

Since this season and so far Ivan is the strongest junior in St. Petersburg (in his age category).

"Known feet!" Davydenko Band opens summer physical training camp.

In celebration of International Children's Day. A figure skating coach is someone for whom children are athletes, and at the same time all athletes are children.

They were children, it seems like it was yesterday...

A professional coach is always ready to take his student's place and do his work 💪

Today is Daniel Gleichenhaus's birthday. So I want to quote an excerpt from an interview with Denis Lunin.
When asked how he assesses the programs delivered by Daniel, Denis said:
"We skated together with Daniya at one time, I know him well. He works hard, he sets his goals and he works hard to reach them. Well done.
As for the programs - well, go ahead and do better, if you can.

Some people just like that kind of music. That's a matter of taste, too."

The first Sunday of summer, the off-season is coming into its own, but I won't let you get bored. I'm going to continue my challenge. While the guys are putting their best foot forward in training camp, let's remember their coaches' youth. Today back to Anton Shulepov of the 2015-2016 season. This season, Anton again had two great dance routines, received a beautiful white suit with a bow tie, and qualified for the Russian adult national team for the first time, as well as appeared in international competitions.

Now, analyzing the past few seasons in a row, I'm beginning to understand what (besides jumping difficulties) was Shulepov's problem. With his excellent acting and presentation skills, his body flexibility as a dancer and excellent gliding, he was unable to present his strengths to the fullest. It looks like he was given one successful program once and decided "let there always be something similar". It won't always be that way, but that's how it was at first. It's a shame, because Anton obviously could have shown more and achieved more.

That's probably why Anton now pays so much attention to his students' programs. Dmitri, Timofey, Arseniy, and Ivan all received interesting programs last season that emphasized their individuality. I like Dimitriev's program "The Lady and the Hooligan", I am fascinated by the program on Arabic motifs "Dubai" for Timofei Shelkovnikov and obviously the restrained sterile monophonic "Cosmos" is quite suitable for his brother, although it does not leave such a strong impression.

Good job, Davydenko Band! Andrei Mozalev is on the main list of the adult men's national figure skating team.

Ivan Ramsenkov and Dmitriy Shelkovnikov are on the main list of the junior national team (boys and girls 11-17 y.o.).

Congrats to the skaters and coaches! We hope for more in the next season.

These guys are working hard again at the training camp in Sochi.

Three of the five are on the national team now, a great honor and responsibility.

I love this energetic and creative skater in her past, present and future. Yet her career ended too soon.

A funky jazz funk from Aleksandrina Degtyareva.
