The first Sunday of summer, the off-season is coming into its own, but I won't let you get bored. I'm going to continue my challenge. While the guys are putting their best foot forward in training camp, let's remember their coaches' youth. Today back to Anton Shulepov of the 2015-2016 season. This season, Anton again had two great dance routines, received a beautiful white suit with a bow tie, and qualified for the Russian adult national team for the first time, as well as appeared in international competitions.
Now, analyzing the past few seasons in a row, I'm beginning to understand what (besides jumping difficulties) was Shulepov's problem. With his excellent acting and presentation skills, his body flexibility as a dancer and excellent gliding, he was unable to present his strengths to the fullest. It looks like he was given one successful program once and decided "let there always be something similar". It won't always be that way, but that's how it was at first. It's a shame, because Anton obviously could have shown more and achieved more.
That's probably why Anton now pays so much attention to his students' programs. Dmitri, Timofey, Arseniy, and Ivan all received interesting programs last season that emphasized their individuality. I like Dimitriev's program "The Lady and the Hooligan", I am fascinated by the program on Arabic motifs "Dubai" for Timofei Shelkovnikov and obviously the restrained sterile monophonic "Cosmos" is quite suitable for his brother, although it does not leave such a strong impression.
