Davydenko band

Hip-hop master class for Davydenko Band by Roman Suptelya

It's cool when skaters try something new besides classical choreography

Frida by Ksenia Gushchina was one of the top nine programs in women's FC for the 2022-2023 season according to instablogger fs.delight. I congratulate Kseniya, Alexandrina Degtyareva, Kirill Davydenko, Anton Shulepov and everyone involved in the creation of the program, it really made an impression. My personal rating is a little different from the instablogger's rating, but I really liked the way he described the program he liked:
"This pick is about the music for me, as well as the quiet confidence and powerful athleticism with which Ksenia performs.

I’ve talked before about how I’m a sucker for programs with trippy interludes, and no program this season pulled that off better than this one. Specifically, the section late in the program that begins with Ksenia’s commanding ina bauer is pure bliss for me. It only lasts for half a minute and then resolves perfectly into the “Poeta En La Mar” section of the program. That brief but memorable half minute, during which you feel like you’re in a dream swimming underwater, made this program a lock for this countdown".

I definitely like the fact that Ksenia, who was a provincial junior who did not attract attention outside of Russia last season, is becoming a subject of interest in the international space. She is really good in her category, presenting her content cleanly and confidently. Young enough age and experience of training on the same ice with guys who go for super-complicated elements will surely encourage her to make a technical breakthrough, so we will wait for complications, probably already in the next season.

I had other plans for today, but I want to continue talking about Ksyusha, so she is the heroine of this Wednesday and my challange. Check this baby out for the 2017-2018 season! Ksyusha is 10-11 y.o.

I absolutely love this original energetic Indian dance in the short program and how refreshing the gentle romantic free program looks against it.

The Shelkovnikov brothers at today's practice.

Davydenko's group goes on vacation, followed by a summer physical training camp led by Olga Belkina and a summer on-ice training camp.

After a brief pause, I return to the "Look at your coaches when they were juniors" challenge. We continue to get acquainted with the charming junior Aleksandrina Degtyareva, who literally charmed me with her irrepressible energy, musicality and sincere enjoyment of doing what she does. No kidding, I really enjoyed watching this child.

Unfortunately, since we can already see into the future, I am even sorry that this girl's career has not turned out in the best way. My only consolation is that she seems to be genuinely happy with her pupils, young skaters of different ages.

Ksyusha looks like a flapper girl from the 20s.

It's Wednesday again, and today we're unveiling a new junior character. Dima Shelkovnikov's path is different from all the juniors we've seen before, because unlike the rest of Davydenko's pupils (and even his sibling Timofei), he became famous in the early days of his sports career. Ten-year-old Dima as the best junior from Krasnoyarsk was invited to participate in the television show " Lednikovyi Period. Children", where he performed under the guidance of Ilya Averbukh. So the provincial junior didn't become a TV star, but at least he came close to it.

He also developed a close friendship with Ilya Averbukh, which helps him nowadays, such as getting a SP from Averbukh in these season.

It should also be noted that Dmitriy is one of the few young participants of the project, whose sports career has turned out well (he is very likely to be on the main list of the junior team for next year). He also has his own fanbase, which is quite rare at this age.

A photo shoot of the careless and imposing Arseniy Dimitriev, he portrays an ordinary high school student in school interiors.

Arseniy studies at ORS #2 (Olympic Reserve School #2) in St. Petersburg. Andrei Mozalev graduated from this school 2 years ago, you can see in the photo one of his teachers.

What, is it another Sunday already? Well, it's time to continue our challenge.
Today I'm in the mood to talk about Anton Shulepov's 2013-2014 season. At that time, Anton had already moved to St. Petersburg and he was training by Evgeniy Rukavitsyn, whose assistant was the unknown Kirill Davydenko. Perhaps this season Anton has already managed to show all his strengths (excellent gliding, excellent presentation) and weaknesses (instability on jumps) at the same time.

It's quite surprising how many bright skaters continue their careers in Davydenko's coaching staff.

This is just a cute photo from the present.
Anton Shulepov on a walk with his baby son from his marriage to Alena Leonova.

Olga Belkina, OPP coach, congratulates her athletes on the end of the season with video footage from their practice.

I think it's very nice.

A new Wednesday again and a new junior character. This time I again choose an unexpected object to observe. This young man hasn't shown himself yet. But we're here to get acquainted, right? We see them at the beginning of their journey and we don't know where it will ended.

So, ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you Maksim Chernykh. If you know a little bit about the etymology of Russian surnames, you can guess that he is from Siberia, and it's right. This boy came to SPb from Chita. His story is much like that of Dmitriy Shelkovnikov, he was the most talented junior in his region and was on a TV show, but in a project smaller than " Lednikovyi Period".
Then he moved to SPb to the Sports School of the Olympic Reserve. He hasn't made much progress yet, but who knows, he might show himself in the near future.
Here is one early recording of his early performance in 2017 not in the best quality

and one video of his skate in 2019 (Moskvina Cup).

There hasn't been any news about Kirill Davydenko for a long time. Today he gave everyone a "shalom" from the Dead Sea.

Have a good rest, Kirill Anatolievich!

And a little bit more of Davydenko and Ksyusha Gushchina from the Russian Championship.

There's something subtly comical and at the same time cute in this duo.

The Shelkovnikov twins spend the vacations with their parents in Umhei near lake Baikal

Yesterday the St. Petersburg ice school team games ended. This is Makar Bondarev's skating video. He is 10 y.o., he is from Orenburg. His coaches are Kirill Davydenko and Alexandrina Degtyareva.

Makar made a funny mistake, falling in the middle of the steps seq., as a result he did not get on the podium, losing 4 points to Serafim Makeev. However, he is still very young and has, hopefully, a long career ahead of him.

It's another Sunday, and I'm excited to get back to the "When it all just started" Challenge. Today is coach's day, so at random (and at my request) we will remember the beginning of Denis Lunin's dancing career in Zhukov's group.

Looking at him, we can say that beautiful gliding has always been a mark of this guy. But the fact that he could become a great choreographer, no one knew yet.
