First Sunday in July! There is an absolute lull as athletes prepare to compete for the new season and remain silent. I continue to look through the retro skates of the Davydenko group coaches.

Today is once again the day of the fragile and strong girl Aleksandrina Degtyareva. It's interesting to compare the careers of athletes after many years. If Anton Shulepov with all his problems and unrealized opportunities always had a hypothetical chance for a podium and therefore was considered a major league player, Aleksandrina couldn't count on anything like that. She wouldn't even be able to expect high places in domestic competitions at the junior level. But she was a bright and distinctive athlete with her own charm.

In the 2015-2016 season, Aleksandrina kept her SP (Vangelis - Rachel`s song) and got a new FP with "I Dreamed a Dream" song from the Les Miserables.

She actually was really good with music from musicals and movies. But the romantic and feminine image didn't fully suit Aleksandrina with her irrepressible energy and impetuosity.

The next season saw a dramatic change and she got a program that became her trademark. If you may have heard something about Aleksandrina before, you probably know that her SP. Yes, it was before Trusova's program and it was done differently than Trusova's. Next time we'll talk about that exact program ⚔️

Post from social media of the Orenburg Sports Ministry

There was a training camp for figure skaters on the Orenburg ice🔥

✅The "Zvyozdniy" ice palace ended with a training camp for young figure skaters from Orenburg and St. Petersburg. The training camp was held under the direction of Kirill Davydenko.

Kirill has been working as a coach for 25 years. He is one of the main specialists in St. Petersburg Figure Skating Academy. Andriy Mozalev, the hope of Russian figure skating - world junior champion, participant of the Olympic Games in Beijing, who also took part in the training camp, works in his group.

One of the training sessions of figure skaters was visited by the vice-governor - deputy chairman of the Government of the Orenburg region on social policy - Minister of Health Tatyana Savinova. She talked to the athletes, and also stood up on skates herself, getting competent advice from Andrei Mozalev.

News here

I wonder if that girl in the lilac jacket also wants to be a Davydenko Band figure skater? Maybe we'll see her at a competition in St. Petersburg soon?

Congratulations to the Davydenko Band with a qualification to the Saint Petersburg team!
Olga Belkina and Anton Shulepov are listed as helping coaches.

Andrei Mozalev, Ksenia Gushchina, Ivan Ramzenkov and Dmitriy Shelkovnikov are on the main list;
Arseniy Dimitriev, Timofei Shelkovnikov and Maxim Chernykh are on the reserve list.

It's a hot Wednesday in July, the offseason. My "When it all just started" Challenge continues. Today is junior day.
I congrats Ksenia Gushchina on making the St. Petersburg team's main roster for the new season, and I continue to watch her early skating. Today we go back to the 2018-2019 season, when little Ksyusha, not yet a girl, but not quite a child, went to the important All-Russian junior competition for the first time.

Anton Shulepov coaches the children of the Lipetsk region.

This group takes care of the development of children's figure skating in the province, which characterizes them in the best way. The growing difficulties of regional sports are a serious problem, and the help of specialists for local coaches is needed.

It's a hot, hot midsummer Sunday, and we're chilling out looking at people on cold ice. My "When It All Started" retro challenge still introduces you to the skates of the young coaches from the Davydenko Band. Tonight we have an evening of ice dancing, and three junior pairs on the same ice: Valeria Loseva - Denis Lunin, Alexandra Stepanova - Ivan Bukin, Daria Morozova - Mikhail Zhirnov.

It's 2010, and no one knows how their careers will develop. Stepanova and Bukin became a world-class couple and received medals of significant international competitions, while the couple of Denis Lunin and Valeria Loseva broke up rather quickly, but Denis soon received a tempting job offer, found himself in St. Petersburg and soon began to travel to international competitions as a coach and choreographer of talented juniors... The fate of the athletes is quite interesting.

Today is a very lazy Wednesday because of the incredibly hot weather, but that's no reason to forget about my challenge. I continue to show you the early skates of the Davydenko Band students. Let's take a look at young titan Dmitriy Shelkovnikov in his 2020-2021 season. This was the last season he spent in Krasnoyarsk, training by Egor Zakroev. Oh, that gorgeous red jumpsuit from SP was memorable for me for a long time! But the music for the short program was a surprise even for me. They really used "How Can You Tell When It's Done?" by Baauer x CZ!!! Oh, how I love the provincial juniors for the freedom to choose their skate music!

The free program is a legacy from Ilya Averbukh from "Lednikoviy period. Children." This program really suited Dmitriy.
