Denis Ten

Dear offseason, cant you just end already? =(
We had enough and do not need anything else happening until the next season begins. Please just dont.

Buianova: "Denis is an amazing talent. Such people are unique, he is talented not just in sport, but also in life. This is a huge sadness... [...] I can't believe it"

Averbukh: "It is very hard to get it sorted in my head. Its so beyond the line that I am speachless. Me and Denis met a few times for work. Planned our collaboration in choreographing new programs. [...] He is a very considerate, his parents are also. Very educated, very refined person. A great figure skater, who showed incredible results skating for a country that was not proud of its own achievements. A huge loss for the figure skating family"

TAT: "I don't know how to live among such criminality? They took the life of a genius, a talented man, who we all loved very much, loved his qualities; He was not just my student, he was a friend. I am speechless".

I saw him skate live twice and both times created vivid memories. The first time in the GP in Paris in 2016. The last couple of years had been a struggle, but his skating still impressed me a lot. The exhibition just blew me away - probably the best hiphop on ice ever.

The second time was the Worlds in Helsinki. The competition was not too good, but I do vividly remember the practice group with only Patrick Chan, Denis Ten and Kevin Reynolds. Patrick and Denis made Kevin look like a novice level skater.

It is hard to believe he is gone.

RIP Denis Ten. And for those crooks that stabbed him, may you be caught and get all those charges that is coming to you, including MURDER!!!
Unlikely they will be charged with murder. It's "Causing grievous bodily harm with intent, leading to death by carelessness", Part 3 of Article 103 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan, from 5 to 10 years in prison.

What knocks me out is the way he expressed and lived the emotion in his skating, especially with grand, classical music.

Pogorilaya: "I simply have no words, it is such a shock! I don't understand how it is even possible! Denis Ten is a great person, very kind and pure, he was always ready to help, in any trouble. I can't even think about what happened, cannot imagine that such things can happen. I don't understand this human cruelty and stupidity, the petyness of people who killed a great figure skater and an incredible person"

Trankov: "Denis... How comes? Why god takes the best among us, the most talented and very young... Denis is our dear buddy. Friend. Very honest, very genuine... Nothing but tears... Emptyness".

Soloviev: "Denis, I don't believe. Today, millions of tears will fall. You will be always in our hearts and in our memory, as a great athlete, a man with a very kind soul and unlimited talent in everything. May you rest in peace. There is nothing more terrible than losing a child! My condolences to his family and friends"

I think we can layman translate that to "manslaughter" in the common law world.

I really enjoyed his skating. I was happy to see him live in Helsinki where he delivered an awesome short program. He had a lot of power and beautiful jumps. Such a talent.

Definitely 2009 Worlds was one of his most memorable performances for me.

I had just started re-watching skating seriously around that time and it was thrilling to see a then 15-year-old Denis give what was the performance of a lifetime! He moved up from 17th to finish 8th and earn two spots for his country, the first time that's happened. I teared up a bit cause it was a time where it there was so much life ahead of him.

Shocked and saddened by the news. My prayers and thoughts are with Denis's family and the people of Kazakhstan at their great loss. Denis had so much potential, and for him to be a victim of violence is heartbreaking.

Oh F@#%!!! I'm just now hearing this horrible news after seeing Mae Berenice Meite's twitter post! I'm so, so, so heartbroken for his family and loved ones!!! Rest in power Denis!!:cry::cry:

A life taken over mirrors? So damn senseless. This is heartbreaking news. Rest in peace, Denis.

I don't have words to express how I feel...

I can not talk after such news ... I have no words ... I went with this man together! I know a lot about him! What a workaholic, how he studied everything! He must learn all the athletes who really love sports ... such as he is the only one! And the word WAS can not pronounce at all ... Aunt Oksana, hang on! I can not imagine your feelings ... when a mother bury a child ... it's generally wrong ... THE KINGDOM OF CELESTIAL DENIS!
P.S after such news you begin to appreciate what you have! She did not care about all the mistakes! Life is short for suffering! Rejoice in her while she is! Do not know what will happen tomorrow! When today can be the last day of your life
