Deniss Vasiljevs

Yet another great interview!!! :agree: He is not only a great talent but also such a great kid. No wonder a legend like Stèphane took to him so much. Also the rumour has it that during Ice Legends Deniss asked Daisuke if he could get a chance to skate with him in Japan in a show, hence came along this opportunity for Christmas on Ice :luv17: I think he is surrounded by so much love and support, and he deserves it  I so can't wait to see his new programmes being unveiled!
@el henry, I was thinking just that, but alas Misha already has his two assignments earlier so it was not to be :sad46:

I wonder at this point will they just stay in Japan after NHK, until Christmas on Ice, which will kick off in less than 3 weeks??? That's a long travel between Japan and Europe to go back and forth in such a short interval. Maybe they will hold a workshop or something in the meanwhile, as Stèphane has worked with lots of Japanese skaters?

Most likely they will go back to Switzerland in between. Stephane probably has a very packed schedule, especially that time of year. Latvian Nationals are held in December too although I don't know the dates offhand.

Oh my that must be exhausting!!! (I checked just out of curiosity and it takes at least 20hrs to fly to Sapporo from Europe! Yokohama, where the Christmas show will be held is near Tokyo so it should be slightly less) Well I guess Stèphane is accustomed to jetsetting. I forgot about Latvian Nationals, I just googled and while I didn't find the dates of this year's competition, for the past few years it seems to be held right around the time of the Christmas show in Japan. No doubt they must have made sure the two events wouldn't coincide, anyway probably Deniss would win it while sleepwalk-sleepskating lol...

New photo from Edea
He has grown up even more, and much improvement in haircut :agree:

Great photo. Yes, definitely a better haircut! No more "I put a bowl on my head and did my hair cut" look. :luv17: Wish we didn't have to wait until Rostelcom to see him!

Yes, he does look so much more mature now! I think that Stephane is someone who really considers the whole package, so I wouldn't be surprised if he had some input into this new style. ;) Can't wait to see what kind of costumes Deniss will have, too...although I suppose those will be as much of a surprise as the music! :drama:

Yes!! honestly I was quite sure Stèphane would step in to do something about that sooner or later
I so can't wait for the unveiling of his new programmes, music and costume included!!! argh, it seems like ages away yet!!! :sad21:
This week Stèphane is in Verona for Intimissimi on Ice, I kinda wonder if Deniss will also make a surprise appearance there!!

Deniss is SO promising. I can't wait to see him at Rostelcom. Glad he can start working on his jumps. Love that coach of his too!

Yes me too!! :luv17: Coming off an injury AND such a growth spurt, if his training for jumping is going strong that is definitely a great news! Very promising indeed! :2thumbs:

Well, you wouldn't expect him to stay home and miss such a great show, would you? ;)

I'm surprise Denis being an ethnic russian he isn't that fluid speaking in russian - you hear him with differrent accent and cuts even for a non russian speaker.
Latvia is 40% russian population.

Living in Latvia I have not noticed any differences, but perhaps Latvian Russian is a bit different from the "real", Russian Russian, especially as people who are the second, third or even fourth generation living in Latvia speak it?

I was surprised at how well he speaks English, and I heard him speaking Japanese, although I have no idea how good it was. Is our multi-talented Deniss also a linguist?!
