Deniss Vasiljevs | Page 25 | Golden Skate

Deniss Vasiljevs

Deniss stated that he became so nervous after the opening error, he couldn't think straight and skated like a robot during FS. Really? Imagine what he could have done if he could just unleash himself and his emotions.

My goodness -- that was the best skate by a robot I've ever seen! It has to be really tough though to start off your program with an error (for anyone, not just Deniss). Heck, he had me fooled -- it seemed to me that he made a great recovery.

Europeans was the first time I watched Deniss. I'd heard about him before, but I think I was afraid to fall in love with another skater, and worry for them and their results. Sure enough, that's what happened

Ditto! What a talent he is! Loved both of his programs and his Exhibition was lovely too!

hahaha thought the same !!!

Well, I was in Ostrava so I couldn't post sooner... IT WAS FANTASTIC !!! I agree with everything you all say and I want to add a thousand more things but I just have no words to express what Deniss (and Stephane) make me feel. I'm just plain excited for the years to come. He'll give us amazing skating. I'm not talking about medals or success (which I think will happen too), but he'll make us just enjoy the sport of skating. I love skating, they love skating, and we all love skating. This is just like a big happy family sharing our love for ice skating. And it's just lovely.

I got the chance to meet them and talk a bit with them. I thanked Stephane for taking him in and taking care of him xD And then I talked to Deniss and he's just the most adorable kid ever. I told him he did fantastic and he was like: "no no, there are things still to improve. If I had done everything correctly, then I wouldn't have space to grow and improve". And then I told him that the exhibition was phenomenal and he was like "well, it was not that good, could've been better".

As you said: only 17 years old, and the most important aspects of a human are already there. WE ARE SO LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO SEE HIM SKATE.

AAAAARGH I'M JUST BEYOND EXCITED !!! :clapper:

Edit:

And now I read this interview, which is just gold. OMG. I'll stop writing because I'll be repeating myself. I guess everyone feels the same :points:

How adorable is that? It's the "mom put a bowl on my head and gave me a haircut" look! :luv17:

Speaking of haircuts, glad that ditched that bowl cut look. Not that he wasn't cute in it, but ya know, now it's much better. :luv17:
