Deniss Vasiljevs

It desn't always come across on video, but Deniss has always been quite speedy ;)

I'll tell you what else goes fast - the sales for this month's SPUR magazine! It was put up for preorder this morning, featuring another article on Deniss and Stephane, and it's already sold out!!!

Something else I want to mention in that he's not on the initial entry list for Lombardia. He indicated that he wanted to compete there again, but since he's been invited to Japan Open, maybe he's decided to make that his first competition of the season.

I also saw the sold out sign of the magazine, I am gutted! :tantrum: I will try to contact some people I know in Japan and see if they can get a copy locally.

Someone suggested that Lombardia may coincide with the start of the uni he will attend in Riga. I am not sure if that is the case, it may not be the best time for him to participate in a uni course? But perhaps as smart and hard working as he is, he will be able to manage?
There is very few other options practical enough for him as far as CS competitions are concerned. Finlandia is definitely out, Nebelhorn is also too close for the Japan Open, Austria is in between his two GP assignments... Tallinn is right after IdF, Zagreb is a week before Latvian Nationals. And I doubt he will fly to the American continent for CS.
Which leaves Nepela in Bratislava, the week after LT. I will be very curious for it, as I am also itching to watch his new programs!

I did some digging around on the Latvian Academy of Sports Pedagogy website (which I think is the one Deniss mentioned before) and the first semester begins on the 3rd September. Not sure if there are any events for freshers before that, as the staff only come back on the Tuesday the week before.

Wow thanks for the research :agree: If he is starting his uni indeed, best of luck, I am sure he will somehow manage to balance the sport and the academics, and mum Stephane will continue to be busy overseeing his studies as well as at the skating academy!

The spur magazine also has electronic version--you can download an app from Apple store, so if the printed version is sold out that will be my last resort to to read the article lol.

I wonder if the publisher will print out more copies for sale, with such an incredible amount of demand shown? We can only hope...

Update at long last on both Twitter and IG account, he must be mighty pleased with the picture (and rightfully so!). :luv17: I just can imagine the behind the scene, Deniss walks into the studio with his hair full of cowlick, then the whole army of stylists, led by the "sensei" Stephane", swarms around him and fuss over him and wow, voila!!!

I'm not usually the person to really be swayed by men (or rather boys maybe? In this case, who knows) in such photoshoots, but dang, I have to admit, he looks fine as f in that photo. I don't usually comment on such pictures but he really looks cute and beautiful! (And a few other words I won't mention since I don't want to be even more creepy)

The Spur October issue is out on the app! The photos are just breathtaking. According to the magazine the full version of the interview will be published on the spur website on August 30.
