Ladies commenting on today's SP told an interesting story. Deniss came several times to the Warsaw Cup when he was still competing in the Novice category. Once (I checked it, it was in 2012) he did a very difficult (that's what they said) combination 3T + 3T. Unfortunately, in SP in Novices it was a prohibited combination and he didn't get any points for it as for invalid element... He was very resentful and the ladies still remember how sad he was. He won the competition anyway ;)
 
The mistake was frustrating because he hasn't popped a jump in a long time... Still, good news is that he got a higher score than for a clean programme with 4 triples at AO. It means that his ceiling is much higher now. And he landed a quad in the warm-up before the SP and the day before in training. I hope he puts all the pieces from different competitions together at Worlds - no ! on 3F, a solid 3A and a backloaded 3Lz-3T.

I wish him a relaxed performance in the FS! He can do these jumps, he just needs to fight the pressure.

And I'm happy that more people will see his Romeo and Juliet :)

I think he just doubled because he was too close to the boards, he won't make that mistake again. I think he is ready. And his score puts him in contention for a good standing in the free.that. I'm so excited. :)

Can you believe his SP shared by Kazakh TV on YT has 150k views till now? And his EX from Euros is incredible popular as well, getting 110+k till today.

In the meantime Deniss shared his downhill skiing on Instastories. Why I feel it's a kind of reward for his great performances during the season?... He said ones that it was his dream to start skiing but he couldn't because of he was afraid of injury. Not this time :)

Leaving Beijing after men competiton allowed him to enjoy winter in Switzerland. I just love these videos of Deniss and Stephane (and an ice dancer Adrianna Wroblewska) skating on the lake:
