As you can see above, I was very impressed to hear the interview with Denis Vasilievs up close for the first time.

What an intelligent and expressive young man!

In addition to competing in skating, he has also studied at university, and this year he started a master's program at graduate school. He specializes in leadership and organizational theory, but he speaks in a very coherent manner and has a rich vocabulary. English would be his second language, so I thought this was a big deal.

His thoughts on skating and his self-analysis of the balance between technique and expression were also excellent. This interview will soon appear in some media, so please look forward to it.

According to the Nikkan sports online premium interview, Deniss wants to include a quadruple toe loop instead of the free program's first triple axel during this season, but the jumps aren't as instinctive for him as spinning or skating. He defines jumps as the jacket he must wear in order to execute a competition program...

I know quads are important, but Deniss is a performer and I just care about his performance. His commitment to the choreography is what makes me love him.
