Deniss Vasiljevs

I'm so happy for Deniss - and relieved he's overcome the problems from the beginning of the season. Beautiful, beautiful performance and the crowd so supportive Deniss could take their energy and transform into the great show.

7 years passed since his last silver in GP so it was high time to get next one ;)

And the best shots of the "creative Ping Pong":

overall: just incredible! The journey this season was just roller coaster, compared to last season esp.
last season was like: well, super, but why always just off the podium? With the building up to Euros (which you really only know after it's done).
and this time it started with a podium, but then that hard weekend and just 2 weeks later this magic turnaround.
Just wow - I don't know how they did it or what they did or if it wasn't really something that could be done. Anyway I hope that "harmful desires" are now fed and he can skate on in a "free" manner and settle into the programs.

So wonderful that the team showed Euros 2022 was not a fluke and that their work finally really pays off. I mean, can judges ignore this? I think he has (if not before) made immense impact here - judges at competitions where Deniss is will return home deaf for some days because of the crowd 😁 They will remember!

I believe that Deniss and his coaches worked hard on the right mindset after Canada. What could be seen/noticed during competition:
- Philippe Clement joined Stephane at the boards
- the team has a lot of fun playing table tennis what introduced a good mood and distracted Deniss from (over)thinking about the competition
- having a long time teammate and friend along worked both for Deniss and Koshiro
- Stephane was wearing his iconic coat ;)

Moreover I'm sure the rink atmosphere and the applause Deniss received from the crowd gave him wings, especially in FS.

Deniss got a state scholarship for athletes who are also students. He is one of four athletes who will get the higest amount of money (it's 1800 euro). Ms Agita Abele (I know her as a FS judge, but she is also a professor at Latvian Academy of Sport Education) is a chairwomen of the scholarship commission. Great to know Deniss is getting such a support, at least for current study year.

OMG- great! 😍 I was actually thinking about the same 😆 But still not sure, will see how much money I can save to afford both days. But that would be awesome 🤩
Deniss&Stephane skating in the same gala- that's a treat 😊❤️
I know, we have such a rare gift/opportunity to see them both skate in the same gala. This trip is costing me a lot of $:ROFLMAO:, but I decided I couldn't pass up this chance.
