I just found a replay on German Eurosport (you know, those snarky guys), they show the last group of the mens FS.
So this was my fourth time watching Deniss' skate at Euros (and actually I also saw the SP four times, I forgot).
I was afraid of what my ears would have to endure
but I also wanted to get a new look at it now that we had seen protocols etc.
The smaller differences that lead to the confusion with the ChSq are not extremely visible, I think you would have to put two videos side by side.
But maybe the tension and frustration led to differences at the end of the StSq or something this time?
I mean we've seen this performed cleanly and even when not, placement of the elements had always been correct. Who knows.
Anyway, back to the broadcast.
They are Grassl fans, always have been. Then they really celebrated Britschgi, rightly so. After that when Aymoz had troubles, they came up with their favourite topic of PCS. Even before, it was like "Egadze got too much PCS, really" "Grassl 77? Too much." "Britschgi should get more, but we know, judges..."
"Aymoz always gets lots of PCS, will the held him up here again?" They were satisfied and pleasantly surprised when this didn't happen
Then Deniss. They did not get what the score box showed. After it was done and the replays came, they tried to "sum up" the mistakes, talked about the 4S being downgraded and how many points he will lose, then one went on with "and much more will hurt him that he lost the final spin, it went away quickly. Maybe a problem with the flying start to it blablabla"

They did not get the real issue at all, but noticed that TES went down from 72 to 68 so they thought everything they talked about was correct. The more snarky one went on again about PCS "fearing" he might be held up as well (considering 72 would stay) like he did with Aymoz.
At 83 they were again pleasantly surprised
But as this specialist raged on about high PCS for Deniss being "a given", the other one at least said "well, he really does it good"
Oh and also a fun fact: during Britschgi's skate, snarky guy wanted to be smart and added "Oh, I don't why, but I looked up the last [Euros] medal for Switzerland and it was Stéphane Lambiel in 2006"
yeah, sure.
All in all it was more enjoyable to watch the FS with them than the SP and I so wish that the second guy would get more "room" on the broadcasts and would stop the snarky one when he gets over the top
hahaha he called Siao Him Fa "the most laid back European Champion ever" and "those tow [Britschgi and Rizzo backstage] are much more happier than the winner"
