Deniss Vasiljevs

Do you think it would be possible?
I hope so! I have no idea if it would be possible but other skaters who have withdrawn are not on the music rotation list (and Deniss was still on that list when I looked this morning). Maybe he's keeping his options open until the last minute... I guess we will find out tomorrow if he appears for the practice session....

ISU Environmental Sustainability Working Group: Appointment Of New Athlete Members

As part of the ISU's commitment to hearing athletes' voices and acknowledging that many athletes have a strong commitment to and interest in environmental matters, the ISU Council invited four athlete members to join the ISU Environmental Sustainability Working Group.

The four athletes include Olympic Champions Nathan Chen (USA) and Esmee Visser (NED) as well as current competitor Deniss Vasiljevs (LAT) and co-founder of the Figure Skating Diversity and Inclusion Alliance (FSDIA) Elladj Baldé (CAN). These athletes will contribute with their input to inspire environmental and social responsible practices throughout the skating community, and in particular younger generations."

I have been out of the loop but I just read a good bye post on twitter from Team Champrey, after 9 years wishing Denis the best of luck and they will be rooting for him at COC. I know he was having money problems with his Federation. Who is his coach now?
I don't know. I am worried because the Olympics are only 4 months away. I wish him the best.

I recently read something about him possibly training in France?

Deniss was training in Fribourg in August (or maybe it was in September?) and I believe his recent instastories are taken in Fribourg as well. Who can be his coach I have no idea. Roman Ponsart is coaching there, he is a coach of Francois Pitot. But they were competing with Roman and Deniss was way better skater...
Don't know what happened in Champery but I think there happened a lot. I mean Sofja having a break and Koshiro moving to Japan means Deniss could feel lonely and a lot changed for him. And all that problems with Latvian Federation plus disclosure they tried to push Deniss to change a coach...
I'd rather read Deniss' message about the coach change and when it's Skating School revealing his leaving I really hope they parted their ways in peace.
I'm concerned about the situation as a beginning of olympic season is not the best time for crucial changes. But as Deniss himself is ready for the change, we must be ready as well, fingers crossed :)

I'm very upset and worried. Our beloved Deniss doesn't deserve extra problems in the Olympic season. I just hope that he will figure everything out quickly.
If his financial situation is so bad, is it likely that he will call it a career after the Olys? It sucks that he has to deal with all this.
