Dorothy Hamill Has Breast Cancer

You can tell by my screen name that Dorothy was my first skating idol! I had the Seventeen magazine with her cover photo. I had Short and Sassy! ( My hair was neither short nor sassy, either..) I just bought her book. It wasn't the most well-written book, but the Dorothy magic did come through. She has not had the easiest emotional road since Innsbruck and the book revealed that her early life was not as idyllic as the fluffs indicated. I will be rooting for her recovery ! I think a happy ending could still be in store for her...

Can you imagine the top skaters of today doing a whole routine without 3As and Bielmans? Could they pull it off as well?

For someone who has brought such pure and simple beauty to the world with her skating, we support you 100% as you work through this challenge. You are wonderful.

Thank you for posting the link to Pie Jesu. I get chills everytime I see that performance.

Dorothy was a main reason why I got into figure skating, too. When I first saw her, I was about 7 years old, and I got my haircut like hers, too! And a few years ago, I bought her doll off Ebay! I think she's going to survive this!! :agree:

I hope she'll pull through this! If it is indeed in early stages, then it shouldn't be too bad. Best wishes for her!
