I actually like this one better. The other one didn't seem to fit her figure as nicely. Almost seemed too small. This one looks richer, if that makes sense.
I agree. I like the cut of this dress better, but the color of the other one. LOL

I'm sorry but the dress is no good. It looks like the laced drapes from my grandmother's house window, they hang there from 60s or maybe early 70s. The color is exactly the same.

I love her white dress now, no uncertainty and doubt anymore. And I bet that if Elena Ilinykh or Kaitlyn Weaver are the ones wearing that, people won't be that harsh

This new costume is the best from all he tried! Amazing.
As for music, the quality is not the best to judge from this video, they used some new cuts from the soundrack, overall I'm pleased with the changes, it's more dynamic now, especially the ending
And I like their twizzles.

Even though they're in third I think this was generally a great return to competition for these twoI can't wait for the free!
I think with the disadvantage of being absent all previous season and placed in group 1, a total of 64.38 is really not bad

Okay, I watched it live and I have to say I'm absolutely delighted. The dance was clean, the pattern looked good and very precise. I still have to watch in slo-mo the key point they have missed, I didn't see the problem in normal speed.
And overall I'm pretty happy they got such high score for such nervous skate. There was a close camera angle before the start of the dance, and Katia's hands were visibly shaky. But they skated with confidence and maturity, for me they are clear winners of that short dance.
They lost a level on their rotational lift, and still had a highest base value from all the teams. And no way in hell the GOE for some of their elements should be lower than Weaver/Poje. I mean, seriously? And one point difference for SS? In fact, it should be quite opposite.
Anyway, it nice some judges gave them high 8's and even 9's for PCS. I can definitely see them getting higher scores during the season. And they should beat the Shibs in free dance.

They look too good to be true :yes: They worked so hard to get back, and all Ekaterina's work without Dmitri is very visible. I'm not talking about her posture only, but also her edges, knees (!), gliding. technically she was the best lady who skated yesterday. Look at their Partial Step Sequence, for example. Almost all the turns is clean on medium and deep edges. They were the closest team to get level 4 for it. But oh well

I am so glad to see them back on the ice!! I did notice that they seemed nervous; I am sure the judges saw that too, and as portraying confidence is part of performance, they perhaps lost a tenth or so there. And going first is never good. Still, a great return to competition.
