Ekaterina Bobrova & Dmitri Soloviev

For what is worth, if he's using the four seasons and there's no birds in it I'm fine :laugh2:

Unless he's saving the birds for POTO? Is that even a possibility?

If he wants me to die from a heart attack... I swear, I'll find him... Or my ghost will be haunting his house for the rest of his days.

Yes, the transition is not quite seamless. But I have problem with the swing part not because of the transition. I'm honestly sick and tired of Zhulin's mania to use EVERY WARHORSE music pieces possible for their programs! Anna Karenina was such a bright idea and IMO, it was a brilliant dance itself. And here we go again: Sing! Sing! Sing! and Four Seasons in FD! What the hell! After Masqurade waltz/R&J combo too, which was not the most original options. :dbana:

Edit: And I forgot to mention that their SD in 2015 should have been to 'Carmen' :dbana:

Edit#2: I hope he's not planning POTO for the Olympic season! I will burn my Stan Card the moment he'll do that :dbana::dbana::dbana:

Well when you're right you're right.

And you're 117% right.

At least.

105 for the FD. 50.xx for TES, 54.xx PCS - clearly some things not quite there on the tech side just yet.

Oh MY GOD! I loved it! :yahoo:
Big mistake on the new rotational lift, but other than that it was pretty much awesome  With Vivaldi and all that stuff, IMO, it worked! And that choreographic spin in the end  And even that new curve lift, which I didn't like before, was fabulous :hap57:
All the changes were for the best.

Edit: there are moments in execution that still need work, but I finally love the dance itself :)

Edit: But I love how Katia reply to some comment 'They can't kill us this easily'.

Can't access the video. Who are the they she's referring to?

Just a general observation though, they seem a bit behind in preparation in comparison to the teams we saw at Nebelhorn and the US International Classic. Is the knee injury something serious? Are they pushing too hard too soon and putting next season at risk? Would it make sense to do Nepala this week or would it be better for them to rest and get more training in?

Can't hear the question, only the answer.

Dmitry's knee is perfectly fine, as far as I know. And I don't think they should skip Nepela for 2 obvious reasons:
- feedback from international panels;
- rating points.

They rested enough this pre-season. Even a little bit too much.

Gotcha. But I was referring to the support on Katya's knee not Dima's.

Oh I see. After Dima's injury I automatically assumed that you were talking about him

I'm not to worried about it, honestly. After Dima's injury and long recovery process I'm sure they will take this problem very seriously, if there is one, of course. If it was bad, they would have skipped Samara and went straight to Nepela, or even to their first GP. But they're here, so I think it's okay.

Man, I laughed so hard when they messed up the lift, because they got it and then they didn't, and even they couldn't believe at the end, but it's a lot better than it was at the test skates, a lot better. The program is good now, very balanced to me.

Haha, it's true! He was like: 'Oh God, how I put you back on the ice now?'

My friend was there and he said that Katia was NOT happy after the skate

Edit: he also said that Christina's song in their SD sounds terrible in the arena. :slink:

The FD from another angle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42xrzXR7qOI

It looks even better this way, and it looks like they got their speed now :)

I really like the way this program is set. Perhaps the music is the weaker link here, but they have both step sequences that attract my eye more than those from last year,'s program, the lifts are new, or at least renewed, the spin is better now and I like how everything is more connected together, with less breathing space like in AK. They need more mileage, though, so we have to wait before we can appreciate this better - it's what happened with AK last year, after all. A lot people said it was boring at the start of the season, and by the end was one of the most appreciated.

Edit: man, I forgot the twizzles. Not only three sets, but they seem a lot more centered this year than ever before!!

Everyone need more mileage this time of a year, even Cappellini/Lanotte who had close to prefect skate at Nebelhorn.

Anna Karenina was theater on ice type of program, it had clear characters and storyline. I liked literally everything about that dance. From the beginning of the season, when I first saw these insider's videos from their training without costumes and some of the elements I knew it would be a big hit for them. Ask Alba, we had a conversation in PM about it even. This dance, however, is much more abstract. It'll be polarizing I think, but you're right, elements are really highlighted in this program.

And I remember previously TAT said that Dima's twizzles are not stable and do not have a lot of ice coverage, so Zhulin always tried to 'hide' them in the back corner of the rink (from judges POV). Weaver/Poje had the same problem. But this time they're performing them right in front of judges seats and on serpentine pattern, which is harder than straight line pattern. So yeah, I'm pretty happy with the result so far.

I do like the fact that this dance is definitely less frantic than their 2013 bird-ish thing and that the lifts are new and better (especially the first two). What I didn't really appreciate is how it is clearly split into two halves but without a clear "storyline" or the clear development of an idea or of a concept... it might be quite difficult to follow not because of its abstract nature but because of its lack of something that holds the different sections together  We'll see, after all I wasn't really impressed by AK at first, either

I fear for them in Bratislava. :(
They are nowhere near as ready as the top teams last week.
I would be relieved if they withdrew as I fear for their scores after seeing Sunday's FD :(
They need a lot more mileage to be competitive with the top teams.
I hope they prove me wrong! :)

I don't! :yahoo: They should go, I need to see the dances filmed on professional camera asap :) I'm sure that these bootlegs don't do them any justice :hap93:

YES! I really want to see them competing, but there's not really much competition for them in Bratislava actually. Chock and Bates are probably going to win, and the rest is going to place behind Team Beaver. Either way, they just really need the feedback. And the programs are not even that bad right now, it was just the lift that gave them trouble.

Exactly. I don't understand why there's funeral service in here... :scratch2:

SD performance was solid for this time of the season, and FD apart from one bad lift was decent too. Besides, we've seen them performing that rotational lift without a hitch before Samara at least twice (the video from ice show and at test skates), so I don't get all the pessimism. Besides, who really cares about B events scores? We've seen last season how the Shibs bombed at Nepela and how Ruslena got cosmic score at Mordovian Ornament... See? Means nothing :hap93:
