Ekaterina Bobrova & Dmitri Soloviev

We don't know at the moment the order of the top 3 because there's going to be a new draw because of the deduction. They have still a chance of skating last, but if there was no redraw they would skate third to last, because that was the previous order for the first place of the SD.

I think this bronze is a bit bitter to me, but they went out and skated as well as they could. I don't have much to say about the calls the panel made for them, but they cost them another color in the medal. Anyway, proud of them for skating like that, and waiting for worlds!

I'm so proud. Not only for them winning medal, but also how genuinely happy they looked on the podium. Just like at Nationals, Ekaterina was glowing :)

P.S. I have a strong feeling the the outcome at Worlds will be different.

Guys, did you watch their new gala? It's ridiculous, and I loved it. Wouldn't mind something like that for next year's SD.

they were best in the SD!! best showing of the season imho! esp the speed!:luv17:

I had the thought of 'Snow will be happy" in my mind while watching them skating so well!!!:agree::biggrin:

'Have you ever thought that the fate tries to warn us of something really serious?' (c) Ekaterina to Dmitri after last missed Worlds.

Heartbreaking.

I think these two look the best they have ever looked. I don't know, in all honest objectivity, that they have any realistic hope of winning another World or an Oly medal right now, but I also think this is the greatest work they've ever done. There's also a joy to their skating now that wasn't presentbefore and that is very pleasant to see. I hope they'll keep skating like this for the rest of their career, come what may medal wise.

Ekaterina switching sport?

Seriously, fair play to her.

Taking part in any ski race is tough enough, but one with this many people in it?! :drama:

This was the 35[SUP]th[/SUP] running of the Lyzhnya Rossii race, held yesterday. The Lyzhnya Rossii is unique in that it consists of a series of races scattered across the different regions of Russia, which all start at exactly the same time.

There were races in 74 regions this year, and 1.5 million applicatations to take part. :jaw:

I wonder how Ekaterina got on amongst them. Whatever her time, she should be proud of it! :agree:

I am in awe of her just for doing it.

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

While the fangirl in me wishes they'd placed higher in the SD as always I really enjoyed watching them here :cheer: They really do look so mature and sensual out there compared to many of the other couples, I'm going to miss them A LOT when they retire.

Just watched their SD on the NBCSN broadcast - I think this was their best SD EVER! I would have scored them about 2 points higher than the judges did. I really liked the power that they showed through each of their elements.

Watching the FD is going to be so stressful for so many teams - the difference between 2nd through 9th place is just insane.

I think they could have gotten the bronze if they had competed a bit better, but alas, I'm happy with the 5th place and a small medal in the free. Now, get better programs, Team Beaver.

After 4 years being absent from Worlds, that was a brilliant come back. Had they been put in last group, they would've got to the podium. However, a small medal is more than enough for me. :yahoo: What a miracle April Fool's:yahoo:

I think they were awesome and I hope that they are encouraged by this Worlds.

As much as I love the Shibs, I would have scored Ekaterina and Dmitri a bit higher in the FD and would have had them 3rd overall.

That rotational life was INSANE!!!!! :clapper: I can't imagine what went into practicing that - I'm assuming lots of practice on the floor first.
