Ekaterina Gordeeva (Ekaterina “Katia” Alexandrovna Gordeeva; Russian: Екатерина Александровна Гордеева; born 28 May 1971) and Sergei Mikhailovich Grinkov (Russian: Сергей Михайлович Гриньков; 4 February 1967 – 20 November 1995) were Soviet and Russian pair skaters. They won Olympic gold in 1988 and 1994, captured four World Championships (1986, 1987, 1989, 1990), and three European Championships (1988, 1990, 1994).

On 20 November 1995, Sergei Grinkov collapsed and died of a massive heart attack in Lake Placid, New York, while he and Ekaterina Gordeeva were rehearsing for the upcoming Stars on Ice tour for the 1995–96 season. He was 28 years old at the time; Gordeeva was 24, and their daughter was three. Grinkov is buried at Vagankovskoye Cemetery in Moscow.

Gordeeva is currently married to former Canadian pairs' skater David Pelletier.

They were so amazing! I'll never forget their Calgary Olys! Their synchronicity was so wonderful..

After Milano-Cortina I really felt nostalguc for their skating. His dearh feela so present still. Their style was timeless, and Sergie's quietly elegant was unique.
