I tend to agree with you. I personally can't wait to see Nikita and Victoria next season and think their first performance together was VERY promising. They also look absolutely beautiful together. I am very surprised by all the haters here.

Overall you are right, Sky_Fly20…one couple here is really suffering from something which could be taken like a hateness – but it is not Victoria & Nikita, and it is not done by fans here.
Lena and Ruslan were suffering not only because of strange behaviour by their ex partners, but also because of not fair behaviour shown by Russian Federation, some journalists and commentators until now. Then you can’t be surprised, Sky_Fly, that some people doesn’t like such behaviour and say their opinion and try to protect Lena and Ruslan. I don’t remember anybody who would persist on the fact that Lena was innocent in Nikita’s decision, but I don’t remember any notice what terrible thing Ruslan did that he was knocked down by Vika and Nikita in such way. But nobody discuss why it happened but HOW it happened. So persisting on things like that we don’t know the whole story is stupid. Of course we know what we are talking about – we know how Vika and Nikita‘s behaviour looked like since World Champs and we criticised mainly this. Now mainly I criticised Russian Federation’s behaviour which is once again not fair. Sportsmen shouldn’t be treated like that. Russian Federation should support all sportsmen as much as they can, Russian Federation shouldn’t look like dictators who chose one couple and pushing this couple they try to shoot down all other couples just to make their favourite couple’s way more easy. They are not doing this for the first time, so I expected that they would be wise enought not to repeat the same mistakes…because almost always the couple who has very easy way to top and doesn’t need to prove anything to get there…such couple transforms into not the best couple and not the most fighting couple.

They are a very beautiful couple. No one really hates their skating as it is, just their behaviour. In time when I/Z prove to be just as formidable everything will calm down. It's just that to some of us here the treatment handed out to the two by their fed is not the same. It just seems a bit unfair for one to be starting at a disadvantage. But you know, this may have been a conscious choice by at least Lena and she is the only one who truly knows why they chose Kustarova and by extension staying home. Personally that's my take on things. Cest la vie!

Vika and Nikita look beautifully together, nobody says anything strong against it.
Why is Sky_Fly20 attacking Ruslan’s look and Lena’s lazyness permanently and he is the only one doing it, while almost everybody else has nothing against this topic…

Just look around, so many couples split this season, everybody announced it, almost everybody thanked oficially to his partner, wished him the best and looked for another partner. Vika and Nikita are the only one who 1) first lied to everybody, 2) then didn’t confirm their decision, so both Lena and Ruslan and their coaches stayed in vacuum for 1,5 months and didn’t know how their career will look like next, 3) Vika and Nikita are the only one from all splitting couples, who looked like their previous partners didn’t exist. Don’t forget that they are all sportsmen, so it means that their career is one of the most important things on the world for them. In such case having vacuum period of 1,5 months without being able to decide what will be next, because your ex-partner didn’t decide for sure…that is really bad situation…and Nikita and Vika are top sportsmen as well, I refuse to believe that they would be so infantile not realising Lena and Ruslan’s situation. If this behaviour showed by Vika and Nikita is OK, why all other couples chose much better way how to deal with the situation? And you may notice that this Vika and Nikita’s split is the only one which was done in such way and the only way which is really criticised by people. Surprising?

As to haters – I don’t think somebody here is real hater (OK, probably Sky_Fly20 really don’t like Lena and really hates young looking blonde man). In my opinion people who criticise Sinitsina & Katsalapov are 1) people who compare them with Lena & Nikita, I agree that it is too soon for such comparison, 2) people who prefer Lena’s more open and “loud“ way of presenting herself, 3) people who can’t forget Vika and Nikita’s poor behaviour, 4) Virtue & Moir’s fans who don’t like choreography which copies their darlings, 5) people who don’t like sweet style of smiling and skating, 6) people who are not supporting super sweet interviews done by Zueva/Vika/Nikita.

Why worry so? Maybe Lena and Ruslan don't need that sort of investment now. You do realize that I/Z represent probably the more more dynamic and technically sound partners? Let it be....this is a marathon not a sprint.

Why I agree with other posts by you above, I don't agree with this one.
Financial support is very important. Today's top figure skating sport especially in Ice Dance Cathegory means that you need a big group around yourself, and every single person you must paid for his/her time.
First some skating accessories:_
- skates - about three pair of skates
- costumes, at least two costumes, but almost all dancers have more costumes for whole season (Lena had eight costumes for competitions plus gala costumes last season)

- then training camps

And people around you:
- coach, assistent of coach
- choreographer (two competive programs, plus gala program)
- athletic coach
- masseur
- ballet coach
- dance coach
- lift's coach
- sometimes you need a doctor too
If you want to have the best specialists in every discipline, those people are expensive.

And don't forget about competitions - money for travelling there (you have to pay your coaches travelling as well), money for being able to compete at certain competition.

Maybe I forgot something...but this is all very very expensive.

Bluntly, Nikita is the weaker link between he and Lena, and he is the one who ended the partnership. Victoria is also the weaker link, I am sorry. I don't think very many if any people who are honestly being objective would disagree with me. So basically, the weaker links who also are the ones responsible for the new pairs existing at all are being rewarded and Lena and Ruslan are left with crumbs?

I know you're right sisinka, but look at it with all that Nikita and Victoria have at their disposal from the offset. Though beautiful, no one was overwhelmed really by their performance. We are all still waiting to see I/Z. Also count me as one of the few that really liked B/S's Chess and Adagio. Everyone even some russian experts, have been saying from the get go how wonderful and strong S/K are going to be but no one expects anything much from I/Z. They are the ones that have the potential to surprise. If they do, it may work out pretty well for them. Hence it is good for them to play it low key. The real pressure is on S/K, and they are the one's who have put themselves in that position, by virtue of how they came to their new coach.

Beauty, blinds many. Let's hope however judges know differently. Consider W/P, very beautiful couple but not always darlings of judges, they had to bring the goods.

Honestly with the number of people that think the looks of skaters equate great skaters, I'm surprised "Pageants on Ice" doesn't exist....there's probably an audience for that. Then they could have their looks judged and I guess everyone's talent would be some form of skating...

It is Elena's fault herself she chose a partner weaker than her, big mistake of not convincing to pair for Ivan Bukin
If I was on the panel, I too will not give them any funding just looking at the pair alone, they are a mismatch couple in both look and technique !

All beauty notices are sometimes funny because...I was looking for the most beautiful ladies in 2014 (don't know how many people voted or who decided it). You can see that every woman is different, some women are interesting, another just beautiful, some have sexy and tiger look, some are a very romantic and quiet ones, so beauty is not just one type of face.

I would say that 98 percent of Ice Dancers are much more beautiful than those make-up free women. And with appropriate make-up, wow, we have suddenly some many beauties on the ice.

But if beauty which is accepted by the whole World (or at least by journals where the results are published) means a beauty taken with appropriate make-up and photo shop correction only - what real beauty are we talking about????

who is hating ? I am pin pointing out what the Russian Federation sees from their point of view
as I see it, the Russian Fed sees what S/K will have as advantage over I/Z

* Will be coached by an influential Ice dance coach
* A very beautiful looking couple
* Will have more room for improvements for technique, what room can I/Z have being coached by Kustaova and co ? aka the Grim reaper of Ice Dance

I expected that you will be happy to have the best coach on the World, but you are satisfied with the most influential coach, so you will be satisfied seeing your couple to win over better couples at the competitions? Just because Marina is the most influential coach?

She could choose from more partners and she chose the best one, even if she would take the partner from another strong couple behind I&K and B&S - it would go to Ruslan (3rd at Nationals, 4th at European Champs, 7th at World Champs). Why she should choose Ivan, who finished 6th at Russian Nationals (even Ruslan and Victoria finished one place above at their first Nationals), Ivan who never skated at European and World Champs, Ivan who finished last at his only Grand Prix competition, Ivan who lost to Ruslan at every competition where they met? Ivan whose partner Alexandra is more expressive in presentation?

If I was on the panel, I too will not give them any funding just looking at the pair alone, they are a mismatch couple in both look and technique !

If you would really behave like that, you would loose your judging licence very soon.
