Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

For me I'm really curious as to the plans they have for the remainder of the season. What are they going to do to raise those PCS and GOE scores? The judges are rewarding beautifully executed programs and not really difficult or innovative unless they're absolutely seamless, so I'm sort of on pins and needles about THAT!!

Last year before Worlds, Elena posted some pictures of herself looking lovely and slim, which did not match the reality of how she looked at Worlds, just saying ....

Who posts something like that at all, let alone in a fan thread? She is athletic, fit, and not a drop overweight like some crazy people love to say she is. Take that mess else where and don't bring it here.

About next season's programs: I think if they want to take inspiration from ballet, the one choreographer that strikes me as being rather suited for I/Z is not Wheeldon, but Alexei Ratmansky. He's got a knack for theatricality and inventiveness that would serve Elena well, I think. His "Russian Seasons" and "Concerto DSCH" are something they could take for inspiration. Shostakovich could be a good composer for them in general, I know Romanova/Yaroshenko did a rather lackluster interpretation of "The Lady and the Hooligan" way back when, but I think that's also an interesting music choice that could work for I/Z.

Or Frederick Ashton? "Marguerite and Armand", "A Month in the Country" and "Ondine" are stories and characters where I think Elena would excel. With Ondine they would have to use other music than the Henze score perhaps, which strikes me as rather inaccessible.

I THINK I'M IN LOVE, I COULD NOT HAVE SAID IT BETTER MYSELF :yahoo::points:!!!

EDIT: When will these people just leave this thread alone? Why do they always find their way to this thread. Aren't their fan threads for their favourites that they can post in? This is just borderline ridiculous!!!

Bram- I. CAN. NOT. With that talk. It's become more than borderline especially in this thread. It pales in comparison to VK. It's still disrespectful and down right rude.

I Agree With You 100%. But hopefully since I/Z are out for the reminder of the season and the big competitions are coming up soon, they'll find their way to other more ACTIVE threads. Well, one can only hope!!

Haven't been online for a few days, but when I went onto Facebook today, a link to this post of Elena's was one of the first things I saw. A friend of mine, who is a massive fan of Lena's, shared it (you know who you are! ;) )

:jaw:

That was a few hours ago, and I could still do with having a bucket of icy water thrown over me!

You know, I have to be honest. It hadn't twigged with me that Lena tends to wear black. But, now that it has been pointed out, yeah, she does!

That's not a criticism, by the way. Hey, I wear black all the time too!

I just love the angle Elena has taken on it.

Wonder how long it will be until Liza posts the same photo...?

I am just commenting on the discrepancy between the photos she posts and how she actually looks.

And how does she "actually" look? Tell us when you saw her in person. :sarcasm: Oh wait, you're commenting on the "discrepancy" between photos and television. Right! :rolleye:

I saw her in the flesh at Worlds 2015, otherwise I would not have commented. The reality did not match the photos she had posted in the preceding weeks.

I have no problem with her curves, as they are a natural part of being a woman, so I don't get why she edits them out of her photos.

Funny, because going back through her IG she didn't really post much between Euros & Worlds, so who knows what you are basing your comparison on. I have no idea why you are continuing to post in this fan fest when you only appear here to slag her off.

Who told you she edits them? The only photos she posted where she looked very thin, too much IMO, last season were in late August If I'm not mistaken. In anycase it was before the season started or very early on, in september. By the Euros the usual suspects already had started to bash her about the weight. So make up your mind people. In anycase, I do agree with Uhh, why do you come in this thread anytime only to slag her off?! What's wrong with you people? Too much boredom in your life? :ohwell:

I must say that I'm a little worried about Elena because of those pictures she posted where she looks very very thin. I really hope that she did edit them (many woman do, Beyonce did that infamous thigh gap edit last year), because her thighs and arms look unnaturally thin. All this discussion about her weight in the last couple of months was very likely very hurtful and troubling for her.
But then she posts this and I think that eveything is alright! :)

I think we need to be aggressively using the ignore button. Conversations like these are rather inappropriate especially in a fan thread.

OTOH, does anyone know if they are confirmed to participate in the Russian Cup Final?

Selfies are probably THE most unreliable source of information as to a woman's true appearance. Any woman who has taken as many pictures of herself as Elena has knows how to angle the camera and pose to make herself look thinner and prettier. Come on, guys, that's like the first rule of Selfie Club.

Unedited full-body candids taken by other people are much more indicative of someone's true appearance. I wouldn't take as truth ANY of Elena's selfies.
