Sometimes I think they were in that kind of survival kind of show, you know keep going until you literally get exhausted.

I agree with that. I mean they had little breaks here and there but I think they are a Tuk type of exhausted.

And respectfully the diversity at Europeans especially in the top 5 teams is woefully lacking now IMHO, with the exception of C/L. Sorry... I didn't mean to be a downer... Maybe because I had misgivings about their music choices this year from the beginning.... I let that negativity take over...

I`ve watched some of the SD vids from Euros and while I like some other couples, there is something missing without Elena and Ruslan. I also think that this break could be a good thing for them. I`m just glad that the Waltz season is soon over. I`m ready for the Blues! :biggrin:

I think they can do a really great waltz though. They just chose not to be traditional this time around. The next time that pattern comes along or a similar waltz they'll be ready.

I think theywould have added a lot to the field and made the competition much more exciting. IZ' Frida is much better than SK and SB uninspiring FDs.
 
I agree. Maybe not in the SD which never quite clicked, but the FD would have brought so much more than all the bland P/C knock offs. The thing that is really missing from ice dance compared to even 4 years ago is that only a handful of teams bother with thinking about an artistic vision, and the judges certainly don't bother to reward it any more.

artistic vision and complexity I would add.
 
They haven't announced anything yet, but the federation statement after Nats was that they expect people finishing out of the top 3 at Nats to do the Russian Final because they want to make it a more important event. So I guess they will and then focus on next season.

I hope they decline it and work towards next season. If Euros showed us anything, it was that the judging at Nationals was a joke. Russian Cup does not deserve their presence.

She said in that last periscope broadcast with her friend that they probably will do the Russian Cup Final.
