In the article, probably, it was a misunderstanding (FD instead of SD) or maybe Ilya really helps them with FD as well, as written above.

I'm so excited for their FD, I just read the article and it sounds already amazing, I trust blindly in Najarro and surely he has done a great job with them

Can I just ask something? Like very random but related to their FD music... why people relates Frida and Diego with spanish music?
I mean, they're mexicans and the essence of the movie, and the soundtrack, has a lot of that (Chavela Vargas and Lila Downs are there for me that means a lot
). Anyway if they chose Frida I agree with Tex, some folkloric part would be amazing, I just can't wait to see how it'll look. With them and the Sibs next season is gonna be to die for.

Maybe it's an honest mistake writing FD rather than SD, and I already said that in my first comment. "Helping" is a totally different story and should be clarified when the author of that choreography is another person.
Yes, I'm suspicious about that journalist, Maria Vorobieva, and I have my good reasons for that. Could also be that they want to create some more clicks for trash articles, as very often is the case with the media. I saw that article before was posted here and I didn't even bother to post it, because I don't think it was worth it. No "victims" don't worry, I consider all part of the game. So the only one making a drama here is you. I suggest you bring down the tone of your comments, because whether you hate it or not I'm going to express my opinions.

From what Najarro said, they are going for a completely different take, if indeed is Frida and Diego. It's a modern choreography so they are going to incorporate different styles. It should be interesting. I'm certainly very curious about it.

Can you imagine them skating to "La Llorona" or at least a part of it? Chavela Vargas is not much the type of music I hear, but gosh that would be epic

I thought they should have been higher that at COC, COR, Euro's, and Worlds. Easily the best Paso of the season.

Yes, but before them are the results of the four other teams, only during different competitions - C/B, W/P, P/C and C/L. So they are in top 5 anyway.

I've also noticed that according to this blog entry Ilinykh and Zhiganshin had the second highest technical base score in the short dance among the top dancing teams at the GPF, 4CC/Euros and Worlds this season:
1. Chock/Bates -- 85,1
2. Ilinykh/Zhiganshin -- 84,1
3. Weaver/Poje -- 83,81
4. Shibutani/Shibutani -- 83,1
5. Papadakis/Сiseron -- 82,1
6. Capellini/Lanotte -- 60,4
It seems to me that the technical base score is the most reliable indicator of a team's merit, since, ulike GOEs and the component score, the levels of various elements are determined by entirely non-subjective rules, aren't they? In that case, the technical base score can't be affected by reputation, ratings and whether the team is skating together for the first season or the 21st. Also, shouldn't tech specialists be able to explain the levels they gave to a team if the team's coach or a representative of the team's skating federation asks?

It`s the World Champion bonus. I/Z were already very close to them this season and I think next season they will overtake them.

I liked their SD, although it wasn`t on the level of I/Z`s. With the exception of Euros they struggled with the SD against the other top couples. I wonder how the Waltz is going to work for them, since it`s more difficult, especially for the girl. Anyway, I can`t wait for next season to begin. Do we already know when they will release the Grand Prix selection? I hope I/Z will get COR and COC. I don`t want them to face P/C, W/P and C/B on home ice during the Grand Prix.

I liked their SD too, although not in my top 3 program. It was a bit dark and that's what I mostly liked about it. However, no way they deserved some of the GoE's they received at Euros, for example. Most notably for their weak twizzles and the pattern+partial. Yet, despite better GoE's they were 1 point behind I&Z on TES but they were held up thanks to the PCS. And I'm sorry but 9's for their SS?
Although they're not alone being crazy overscored there. Others are worse, at least Guillaume has great SS.I think the GP selections are in June this year.
