Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

If they were in any way authentic they would have watched the control rentals
Sorry, but why do you always call test skates "control rentals"? Is it because Google Translate translates it that way? If so, then believe me - "прокат" doesn't actually mean "rental" in this case (it's "skate", as in "We had a good skate"). And "контрольный" can officialy be translated as "test", although the direct translation would be "control" indeed.

Simple mistake.

Anyone please explain to me why on the other forum they're saying Elena has no fire, out of shape etc??? Am I blind or I don't see that? I think they're in ok condition and she is fine.

Simple explanation, prejudice and jealousy. How could this frivolous, seemingly overly emotional young girl achieve so much after enduring so many challenges? And not only that to smile through it all. I/Z admitted to not being in ideal shape yet. I shudder to think what complaints we'll hear when they are. My foolish advise, stay away from those forums, its like poison.:disapp:

I wouldn't worry about TSL. Having watched previous episodes they weren't even really fans of I/K... Until their OBM. Or fans of Chock/Bates... Until their world silver medal. All Ruslena need to do to get chemistry is start winning championships! ;)

But yeah, while I would like to see them skate closer in hold on the future, and there are definitely areas they need to work on, they are trying to do something no one has ever done before. If they win the Olympics in 2018, they'll be the shortest dance partnership in history to have done so. They're really racing the clock and trying to show if sheer talent can beat experience.

 They are in very good shape for this time of the season. No question. Maybe some people wish they weren't, but it's just a wish.

Even if it can't, though, there is always 2022!!! :cheer: They are still young enough to definitely stick around until then.

Between you and me, I think that's one of the reasons she chose to skate with Ruslan, longevity. She loves what she does.

I also think they're in better shape than this time last season. Aside from the twizzle in the FD, I think they're pretty solid. And yet those people are saying Ruslan could barely lift Lena.

To my untrained eye, he was a bit off in comparison to the test skates. They executed the lifts and transitions there with a bit more finesse, so I don't know if it was nerves or fatigue. But to write them off is nonsense, Ruslan just clearly had an off day. Lena on the other hand has just improved tremendously in both the SD and FD. Ruslan owns that SD, and plus they changed the lift in the SD, all these things take time to master. Going forwards, its obvious the FD can only get better. How quickly they forget that all the top teams had issues of one form or the other at these senior B competitions. All of this is just coming from a really negative place.

Cool, a Ruslan interview

Anyway, I think they can go very far this season with their programs. What I`ve read on forums and tumblr, their FD is generally liked, their SD has more mixed reviews, but they are selling the heck out of it, so they should be ok with that program.

I was surprised to read on another forum, that people thought Elena was out of shape. I thought they skated the SD very fast, with a lot of flow. The FD still needs polish, but that`s normal, since it is much more complex than last year`s Appassionata. I think Ruslan was a little disappointed because of his mistake on the twizzle, you could see him shaking his head to their coaches after the performance. He seems to be really hard on himself when he does mistakes, you could also see that at GPF, when he had that stumble during the SD.

:points:

And guys, don't you realize, Lena will NEVER be in shape. She's so lazy!!!! Nikita all the way <333

;)

It`s not so much about people wanting her with Nikita, it`s like, if they can`t say anything bad about their programs, it`s her shape, it`s his juniorish looks, his inability to lift her. What annoys me more is that there are still people wanting her with Bukin. I really don`t understand what`s so special about him. Ruslan is much more versatile and he is someone who really dances to the music.

Anyway, it`s great seeing Ruslena on top of the best season`s score list. I watched the victory ceremony and I have to say Gold looks very, very good on them

I dunno, I truly do think some people are still very, at this point unhealthily upset about the split from Nikita, and others are huge fangirls of his and think he can do no wrong so she is the one to blame and must be demonized forever.

I also don't get the Bukin thing. Like at all. But I think it's mostly only one person who thinks that to be totally honest, at least on this board.

The number one complainer on the other forum is a big Tiffany Zahorski fan, and she liked Ruslena until it was announced that Tiffany wanted to switch to Russia, soooo I'll let you all draw your own conclusions...
