Now here's the REAL treat!! A Japanese sports program is doing a bunch of Worlds previews, and last night they aired Lena's!!
I hope we get more of these cuz I can't speak Russian but I can read Japanese!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjKgCSX2mIg
Her segment starts at 2:00 in. They refer to her as "the unbelievable 16-year old prodigy girl from the powerhouse Russia." Then it goes on to talk about how when you think of "Russian prodigy," you think of Yulia, who did well at the Olympics team event and was 2nd at 2014 Worlds. But then she ended up 9th at Nationals and didn't make the Worlds team.
They talk about how the Russian ladies' field is really deep, and then they focus on Lena, whom they call
tenshinranman, which means something like guileless/innocent. Kind of like calling her an "ingenue," I guess. They talk about how she was too young to go to the Sochi Olympics, but she got a special invitation to perform in the exhibition. Then they mention that she's the only girl to have won 2 Jr World titles.
At 3:47, Lena just kills me!

She says "
kawaii," which means cute/adorable in Japanese and perfectly describes her!! This footage is from her visit to Chacott (in Tokyo) from June of last year. Lena says "I can use this hair ornament at the competitions," and you can see that headband she is wearing is the one she's been wearing for her FS--she bought it in Japan!!
Then they mention that Lena was the only lady to win 2 GP events, and that she won the silver at GPF. During the zombie dance, they mention that according to Lena, her greatest weapon is her performance ability, and the way she can grab the audience hearts in an instant. (So true!!)
Then at 4:30, they show Lena and her mom (!!) shopping at a pet store. (This part is sooo cute.) Lena tells the dog, "you're a good dog." Then, looking at the clothes, she says "cute! I want this kimono!" Lena's mom: "I chose this one." Lena: "Aah, this is also cute!!" Lena: "I can't decide~!" Subtitle: After 30 minutes of hesitating...What does the prodigy girl decide? Lena: "I'll just buy them both. [sighs] With this, the child [her dog] will also be happy." [Martel is one lucky, spoiled dog!!

]
Then they show a clip from the GPF press conference, and I'm so glad because I've been searching for this clip!!
Lena says "I'm not young anymore. I say that because in Russia, there are younger girls who can do harder jump combinations than me. So my performance today wasn't particularly great/special."
In the final interview, Lena says, "In Russia there are lots of strong girls, so everyone has to work hard to be good." They flash a big subtitle that says "Worlds debut" and Lena says, "the most interesting part starts now."
The lady announcer then says "Radionova's natural face [i.e. without makeup; also, kind of like her off-ice appearance] is REAALLY cute! [the guy agrees] But I was surprised that she said 'I'm not young anymore' when she's only 16."
The guy says that even when Lena was a junior, she was talked about as someone who would rise to the top ranks, but to be in a position to win in her debut Worlds--she probably really wants to do well.
Last thing--big pic of Lena in a subway station in Tokyo! (Part of an ad for Worlds.)
