I just saw this on IG https://www.instagram.com/p/BT4AAkTgNcE/?taken-by=yulia_elena_room anyone knows what's this?

Lena was at the Twizzle skating shop sometime recently (today?):

Can you spot 3 Lena's in the photo?
But if she's getting equipment there...does that mean she's not being sponsored by Riedell anymore?
I guess we'll see if she ends up going to Minnesota again or not...
That is one thing I have been wondering regarding Lena switching coaches... I remember two years ago, Inna Goncharenko talked about how Lena's parents had to pay for her choreographers and specialists (like a skating skills coach), and how Lena couldn't afford to work with big-name choreographers:

Since Lena didn't go to Euros and Worlds and didn't do too well this season, maybe she doesn't have as much prize money as she did last year. And maybe THAT'S why Lena wanted to go to Buyanova's group, because if you're in that group, apparently all your specialists and choreographers are paid for (you don't have to pay yourself)...
I don't know, perhaps we'll never know why Lena decided to leave...
All I know is I will DEFINITELY miss seeing these two together!

As for her decision to change coaches, we probably will never know why and honestly I am ok with that. I will miss seeing her and Inna together and really am not looking for to Elena and Elena B kiss n cry moments since Elena B just bugs the heck out of me. However, if Elena B can make things happen for my girl I am willing to suck it up.

I loved the SP this year, and I loved both dresses, although I couldn't say why the FP dress suits the program. I couldn't have said I liked the FP all that much. I am glad she is keeping her SP, I am sure she will have a new dress, that part is fun and easy compared to a new SP. I am quite a bit more hopeful for her Olympic season than I was a month ago.
Hey everyone! I am going back to lurking now.
It even made it onto the runway...??? Or maybe Lena was inspired by this dress?

Well, my other post was getting kind of long, so I'll put this in a new post.
Here's a translation of Elena Buyanova's recent interview:
http://fs-gossips.com/elena-buyanova-in-sport-everything-is-fleeting/
I have to say, that after reading this interview and the one with Averbukh, I am more confused than ever about what's going on with Lena.
First, I was really surprised that Lena asked Averbukh to choreograph a program for her. (I'm guessing it would have been the SP.) I thought Averbukh made it pretty clear even at the end of the 2016 season that he would only choreograph for Medvedeva. So to me, it sounds like Lena & Buyanova decided to reuse Porgy & Bess because she didn't have another option. Personally, I like "Porgy & Bess," but I don't love it, and I had been hoping she would get something even better. Who knows though? Maybe it will be good for her to have a program she's 100% comfortable with.
Second, I was really surprised about how Buyanova goes on and on about how great Masha is, how smart and hard-working she is, and how she has a strong character. And in contrast, all she says about Lena is that she knows Lena's strengths and weaknesses, and that Lena "does not have an easy character."
If that is the case--if Masha is just wonderful, and Lena has problems, then why did she agree to take Lena at all?She surely could have said no, like she did to Anna Pogorilaya.
Of course, she might be trying to assign blame in advance--so that if things don't work out later, she can always say "I said from the beginning that Elena has problems and is difficult."
And I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens in the fall. If Lena starts performing well and Masha not so much, I would not be surprised at all if Buyanova changes her tune and starts singing Lena's praises.
I guess no matter what, in order to make that Olympic team, Lena can't just rely on having a powerful coach. She's got to land those jumps fully-rotated, every single time, and that's the ONLY way she'll have a chance.
So I hope Lena has a nice, relaxing vacation, and comes back ready to train harder than ever! :agree: GOO LENA!!![]()
Batsuchan, I was also a bit disappointed by Buyanova's interview. But after thinking about it some more, I guess I can understand her loyalty might lie more with Sotskova since she has been with her longer. Also, I was thinking about all the rumors that Buyanova was trying to poach Elena from a couple years ago. It could be that she wanted to dispel the rumors so she was purposely lukewarm about Elena. But yeah, I wish all she said about the subject was "Elena and Maria are both wonderful skaters, with very different qualities and I think practicing in the same rink will improve them both." If she had just said that, I think I would have felt better about Elena's situation. But regardless, I agree with hanca and I think we all know that Elena is a fighter, and that quality will serve her well.
I am kind of sad she isn't getting a new SP, and I honestly would have liked to see Averbukh choreograph for her because interestingly, I think his programs for Elena are actually much better than his programs for Evgenia. But whatever, clearly Averbukh has his own agenda to push, so maybe it's best he's not working with Lena.
