Prayers and good thoughts out to the Edwards family. I was very impressed with Elizabeth during the campaign. She seemed very down to earth and someday would make an excellent presidential candidate in her own right.

The simple answer is mammograms, like all tests are not perfect. There are false negatives, false positives, and sometimes, the growth is still below the limit of detection of the test.
