Can I just add, I'm speechless that she tried 3A for the first time
at Worlds? When she's been winning all year without it, when many said this was her best chance for the title? When--and this is now being forgotten--the SP used to be her nemesis, and kept her back from many a podium/win she otherwise would've gotten (dating all the way back to 2009 Nationals).
Who else would try something like this? Who else would try... and
succeed?! Forget all the men stumbling on their quads. This is true risk-taking--to go for something even though 99% of the fandom says you don't need it, so skate clean, play safe...
Please nail the free, just like at the St. Petersburg competition!
That should have been a TES World Record.
I think the judges held back on her GOEs (esp. that one who put -1 for that magnificent lutz

).
Anyway, Liza have just added another ton of fans!
It functionally is a TES record. Yuna in Vancouver had an extra spiral sequence and different GOE scaling (you actually get +3 points for a +3, even on a 2A

). Nothing to do with the judges. That one -1 was probably someone pressing a button by mistake.
Liza made one silly error (loss of level on the flying sit spin--while her steps and combo spin, which sometimes get Level 3, got Level 4 here). The second 3T was a bit crooked in the air. Next season, with a program tailored for the 3A instead of modified to include 3A, and with those tiny issues cleaned up, she can hit 45 TES. For now, I agree with Mao's SP record standing.
