Correct,

Liza was unable to skate because of a periostitis as Alexei Mishin mentioned. She is, however, ok and walking, it will just need some time to heal and she should be able to skate at an event to honor Alexei on the 8th at St. Petersburg. I also don´t know what caused it, it could be an issue with the boot, that was rubbing on her heel, but that is speculation.

Speedy recovery to Liza!

Liza says she used to be given meldonium (meldronat) too. But after she found out that it was banned she stopped using it.

Thanks for the info. Don't know much about meldonium, but seems like it used for heart problem treatment. Just wonder, does Liza have heart problems?

Did you see TSL facebook?:noshake: Now they are trying to include Liza in all things gray and shady:sarcasm::disagree: People forget that it wasn't banned and act like she is a cheater and undeserving winner :(

Does her father died for heart failure/attack during heart surgery?

Nobody knows such things for sure. I thought it was cancer.

TSL are as low class as they come. Best to just ignore them & the fools who think everything they say is the gospel.

How sad...Liza was just being honest, did absolutely nothing wrong, & ends up getting attacked as a result.

They've spent years trying to suggest the judges cheat to make Russians win, and now it's all about how all Russian athletes dope. Neither opinion changes the fact that the Americans they endlessly make excuses for can't seem to land their jumps when it counts. :whack:

And I love Ashley's personality and respect Gracie's athleticism, but the way many American skating fans try to take this route of moral superiority really grinds my gears.

Do we even know when she was taking it - did she say? When things were going well - or when they were going badly?

And regardless - suppose she was taking it all along. If melo-thingy was the sole cause for her success - why wasn't it working in the autumn? It was still legal then.

Anyway - Liza will be back. Anyone who is counting her out - and thinking that she will be lost without Melo-thingy - is in for a pleasant surprise/rude awakening (depending on one's predilections). Not that that will make people shut up, of course - some people seem constitutionally incapable of keeping silent even when they have nothing sensible to say. They'll just have to go back to bashing her PCS or something - how tame!

According to google translate of the article, she said she stopped the medicine in autumn last year as one of her skater friend warned her about the medicine being added to the list soon.

Just a wee question about semantics.

When the article says "last year", does it mean the calendar year (so autumn 2015), or does it mean the figure skating year (so autumn 2014)?

Because there is a significant difference here.

I read more closely the google translate:

"World champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva said that also took mildronat.

- Meldonium, mildronat I also saw earlier, but just know that it is considered to be doping, and immediately stopped taking it this year. "

Not sure about when she said "this year", she meant "this calendar year, i.e., 2016" or "this figure skating year, i.e., 2015". But as far as I know, it was announced around August 2015 that the medicine will be added to the list in 2016, so Liza's skater friend could only know about this no earlier than August 2015. So I think the time frame for her stopping taking Meldonium is: after autumn 2015 to just before January 2016 when Meldonium was officially added to the list :scratch2:

It will be much appreciated if our Russian friends can translate the article so that we don't have to guess.

Someone on twitter (who seems to know Russian) says, it is not confirmed whether she actually drunk the medicine, it only says she received (='took') the drug from someone (probably the doctor?). Is that true??

ETA:

When I look at the word to word reference on Google translate, 'this year' is in the clause that says 'it is considered to be doping', not in the clause that says 'immediately stopped taking it'. It is possible that the original sentence just says 'I came to know that it is considered to be doping from this year, and I immediately stopped taking it.'
