Johnny has been wearing black practice outfits for a while now. He's got one with white stripes and his name in Russian down the sleeve, one with blue and his name in Hebrew and that one in red with his name in Japanese.

It's probably more practical to have practice outfits in black--doesn't show dirt as much, lol.

I don't think that they are matching outfits. Just the same color combinations. I'm getting excited for this competition though. It's going to be good.

Well, LOL, it looked to me that in those pictures besides the above mentioned, almost all guys wore black (Lambiel, Joubert, Preaubert, Buttle, Bradley, Takahashi....).

Um, no they don't. Johnny is starting to look like Balanchine! Even is, as we know, Mr Macho. (However, Balanchine WAS married five times....)

It looks like that black with red decorations is the trend of this Worlds. Look at the other disciplines, you'll find this trend, too.
