Has anyone noticed this?

From the IceNetwork article: 'Orser met with Medvedeva, 18, and her mother, Zhanna Devyatova, on Sunday, April 22, at the Mayfield Hotel in Seoul'.

This was the exact date she deleted most of her pictures with Yuzuru from her Instagram.

Not about the exact date, but the subject was discussed about 20 pages back...

How do people monitor this stuff? Seems really obsessive...like who is checking every day to see what pictures someone deleted?

I agree, I would never do that, but I know there are fans out here who run their own lives around every possible piece of skating statistics. They follow skaters literally EVERYWHERE and know literally EVERYTHING. By "everything" I mean mathematically everything. They know about their skaters more then the skaters know about themselves. lol

It's hard for me to see how she stays affiliated with Sambo-70 given this hostility. I think she will. The tide will turn with some of the support she's getting and the respectful tone she's taking, but it just seems very tenuous. I understand her options are limited though in order to get to Canada in the first place, though.

Well good luck to her. I have not been a fan of her’s but I will approach with an open mind. I recall warming to Sotnikova’s skating after the Olympics. Interesting reading Orser’s interview where he said she basically had no say in her skating programs

Yeah, that's how it seems to be for Eteri's students. She picks all of their music, programs and layouts for them and they do as they are told.

LOL I don't even have a IG account. But I remember the date for certain personal reasons, and on that day I saw the whole drama on twitter. It just occurred to me when I read the article, that's all.

After reading the numerous articles on the subject, I think this is a good move for Evgenia. She's no longer a kid and I think Orser can take her to the next level with some more autonomy over her stylistic direction.

I appreciated the transparency of Orser in the IN article about how Evgenia came to be one of his newest students.

And maybe this means she'll be at Skate Canada this fall (which I'm attending)!

I found that bit interesting too. It also explains why all her programs had a sameness to them. It's about what gets the points, not Evgenia's creative interest. I always found her exhibition programs interesting --and it's probably the one area where she gets to play.

I got excited after reading how much Brian believes in Zhenya's potential. He is great at discovering talent and he knows potential when he sees it. He saw it in Hanyu too. So I am going to trust Brian too. He seemed so thrilled to have her. I hope Tracy Wilson is just as excited.

It's definitely a new challenge for Brian. Evgenia, as noted in the story, is the most decorated skater coming to him. He really has a chance to show the improvements he can do for a way more established skater.

Brian's experience with managing Yuzu through all his injuries probably was appealing to Evgenia too.

My first reaction after I read "I want to win Gold in 2022" was a laugh. "Never", I thought, "never Evgenia, you're delusional." But then I thought of Aliona Savchenko after Sochi, when I had the exact same thought. "Never," I thought, back then, "Aliona, you're delusional....."
Perhaps they too had a long talk in South Korea. :)

Yay!!!!!

I don't think he discovers talent so much as talent comes knocking on his door.
