Evgenia Medvedeva to train under Brian Orser

Even though I am slightly scared that Rusfed will meddle in a negative way since I read all these comments about it, I believe that her reputation and their respect for her is big enough to actually help her as much as they can because they really don't care about who brings the medals as long as they do. I believe they support her, otherwise we wouldn't be reading what Orser said of Evgenia working it out with Rusfed for the expenses after they make a training plan. Maybe they won't use Evgenia as much for their promotional materials, maybe they'll use Alina, but I think they'll support her nonetheless.
I dunno if this is good or bad for her in the long run aka post-retirement prospects.

Definitely good, as she will be even more famous than she currently is. Maybe she won't stay in Russia, but she could go anywhere after she retired, especially after her training in Canada (and the teaching of English language that goes with it).

Well, there, that's the answer to Mr. Orser, over 18 senior supremacist. He has his preferences but he doesn't condemn 13-year olds learning quads and doesn't want to raise the minimum senior age.

Not going to change the avi/tagline for a few days, though.

I am sorry, but.....I would not fit alina zagitova or Lipnitskaya doing a sailor moon performance......

I am talking that....she goes against the mainstream.

For example, I think that, Yelena Isinbayeva is the role model that people with power in Russia want to promote.

Even Zagitova.

I'm just going to let the Russians here discuss this, but reminder that TAT worked with Johnny Weir. That's one "state objective" you (indirectly) brought up, but TAT remains a reputable figure in Russian FS.

Are you sure about that? Are all Russian role models "traditional"?

Pluschencko's Sex Bomb comes to mind.

Plushenko and others belong to another time.

I'm sorry but I'm not uncovering anything about what is the change of mentality that is being promoted in Russia for about 3 or 4 years.

I haven't read an article about Isinbayeva about a year or two. Same goes to TV-shows and advertisements in the trading centers. Medvedeva is much more promoted in Russia.

Do you have a problem with Russian mentality or what?

No.

I like Russian ways of thinking and I do not like other ways of thinking.

The same happens to me with the Americans and the Portuguese, and with....

Nobody is perfect.

Agreed about what is going to happen: the top skaters will receive the +5, which will mean they won't even have to plan harder elements in order to stay on top.

In the case of Evgenia i think she could get it for certain jumps, like her 3lo is really smooth with all the seamless transitions.

+5 GOEs and reduced BV for quads and 3As is even worse than pre-vancouver system.
Medvedeva can even afford to ditch the 3lz with that system, mostly against non-Eteri skaters.

I will be laughing hard (not really) if a clean program with 3T3T and 2A2T2T combos with +5 GOE on everything will win over clean program with 2 quads and 3lz3lo.

Possible. +4/5 GOEs for all elements + sky high PCS for the easiest program while the hardest program can receive +2/3 GOEs and low PCS.

It will be even more funny if the easiest program will win on TES too (+4/5 vs +1/2)
