Evgenia Medvedeva

I just watched her runthrough and I‘m completely and totally crushed. Heartbroken. She doesn‘t deserve this. She trained so hard for this competition and then this happens. Life is just unfair sometimes.

In all seriousness, she needs to withdraw. She cannot jump like this. She proved everything with that SP, showed her determination and that she‘s not willing to give up. But now she is risking her health.

I agree, she somehow got through the SP with sheer willpower, but a FS is a totally different story. She showed she's still a competitor to be reckoned with, RusFed showed they don't need her anymore, nothing more can be done in the FS. (Sorry if I sound bitter, it's because I am lol.)

Idk if you‘re bitter, probably. But I feel exactly the same. I guess most Zhenya fans do right now.

To add some bitterness because I really can‘t help myself: How on earth can it happen that Zhenya literally has to go to a boot shop in the middle of nowhere and buy herself some skates because NO ONE of the federation is even thinking of helping her? Same for Edea. I know I‘m probably being unrealistically petty right now but Zhenya is their ambassador and what‘s happening right now is more or less a PR disaster for them. Boots of their two time WC breaking after barely one month? And you can‘t get her some new ones from Moscow? Sure.

Her having to skate two days of competition on a boot that‘s literally falling off her foot is truly insane. And I‘m not one for conspiracy theories but that + the judging makes me go... :noshake: at the whole situation. Guess no one needs her anymore, should probably have ”taken a break“ when she was expected to, after the OG. Such a shame she didn‘t want this...

Zhenya is the kind of girl that even with the storm ... even with everything against ... she fights and doesn't give up ... I was hopping for her safety her opting for withdraw ... but I think she will skate no matter what and prove once more I'm here and I will fight every battle until one day I will be the champion again wait and see ... something that tuk is doing to ...

Rusfed probably obligated her to skate yesterday, and they’re probably doing the same today. I doubt Brian and Zhenya would have wanted to skate in those conditions. They’re probably like “you can either skate, or you’re out, for good”.
They’re being totally political, and probably want her to have a bad skate to justify not giving her a chance later. And TAT’s power seems to not work that much anymore. I think Rusfed is giving its back to Evgenia. It’s like they’re saying “you can have a little bit of support, or no support at all”, what do you choose.

Exactly. This is such a shame. She's a two times world champion and not some amateur who just skates for fun. I, too, can't believe this.
She needs to withdraw now. She won't make it to the team anyway and there's no reason to risk a broken ankle or another serious injury. I feel so devastated.

Looks like she withdrew  I'm heartbroken for her, but it was absolutely the right choice. Stay strong, Zhenya!

What to say... I’m still in shock. I was expecting bad things for Nats, tried to prepare myself but this is worse than what I had expected. It’s even worse than last year‘s Nats, at least those had a positive ending. I‘m so sad. Don‘t know what to say.

I still can‘t believe it. She looks so good, so prepared. I noticed it yesterday from the SP costume - her body looks totally in shape, more muscles everywhere. And now this... this is so freaking unfair I can‘t believe it.

I'm so so sad for her. I don't know what to say. How on earth can she be sooooo unlucky? What has she done to deserve this?
