Evgenia Medvedeva

Thank you for sharing the pictures and video! Two inspirational young ladies, who are both marvellous skaters, each in their own way.

Zhenya donated all of the money she earned through her website (merch) to Rusfund to help with Covid-19. She is asking other athletes to help as well.

A generous action. She has a big heart. Thanks for sharing the link.

Team moonbear posted an Evgenia interview, I think it's from today, if someone can translate.
Also, I think her quarantine ends today or tomorrow in Japan.

It's a message from Zhenya through the Russian Olympic Committee IG. She continues to be the ambassador for the Tokyo Olympics. She sends a message of encouragement to the athletes in this situation and says they will be seen at the Tokyo 2021 Games.

She looked beautiful and her hair has grown quite a bit. Her hair is one length now, no more growing out bangs. :)

On the topic of her hair, in case anyone didn't see, she explained why she cut her hair in a reply on her last Instagram post:

No, I cut my hair because of the quality. They were very dry and brittle. Now my hair is in the best condition in my life :)

I guess we will see whether Evgenia will go back to either Russia or Canada. I think Canada would be better but that’s obviously a decision between her and her mom

Apologies for my ignorance, but is Canada a bit ahead of covid-19 compared to Russia? I don't know if Zhenya will be able to travel at all, she must be tired of all of this, but I hope she can get back to somewhere she calls home soon.

It may be difficult but not impossible to still travel out of Japan, I assume based on her decision to go to Japan that housing and everything was secured for at least a month. At this point the best place to be is the closest approximation of home to ride out the pandemic because there are just so many unknowns. Geographically, Russia is closer but Moscow is a hotspot. I don’t know if either Russia or Canada are close to hitting the peak of their first waves yet.

I would guess that she has no visa problems with returning to Toronto, I’m just thinking it would be more prudent for her to travel less in general (less opportunities to get sick).
