Interview Translation
Happy Monday! (it's still Monday at least where I am

)
See translation of the interview. This one was not only long but also quite hard to translate. So please don't judge too harsh

Personally, this is probably my favourite Zhenya's interview. Read until the end you will get why
Journalist (J): Zhenya, how can you comment on your skating in Bratislava?
Zhenya (Z): I will better after FP. Although, I can not say that I very happy (satisfied) that Is skated better than in Sochi because I have to skate clean. I will be honest, I was very nervous before SP, basically, couldn't feel my legs. But before FP, I made up my mind, calmed down and realized that I have nothing to lose, so FP turned out to be alright (okay).
J: you looked great on the warm-up before FP, was doing everything very well.
Z: I already said more than once that for me the 6-minute warm-up is very important. It sets me up for skate, and I start the program with the same feelings, so I try to warm up well.
J: Why was your nervous? How can you explain it? Is it due to having jumps in the second half in FP?
Z: The fact that I now have two combinations in the 2d half and only 1 jump in the 1st half, is, of course, makes it harder, but it's possible to perform, just need to skate programme more. Man gets to adjust to everything. Just have to work.
J: You mentioned that after this start you with your team will make some changes and corrections. Can you explain which ones?
Z: Changes will be made, but not in terms of reordering jumps and moving them to the first half of program, only for reason that it will be easier. No! Maybe some changes would be in transitions for jump' entrance, we will continue to work on jumping technic, spins and on quality of skating, we will look for a new "features" (schticks/highlights), which are comfortable to skate and looks interesting (enjoyable), increase element levels.
J: Your jumps in this season are notably higher.
Z: I was trying to make all jumps with rippons. In fact, I started to do it in 3 days before Bratislava. A weak after Sochi, I was skating programmes with only one hand raised or normally. But one day I thought: "Why not to try everything with rippons?" And I started to jump like that.
J: Is it easier for you to make jumps with rippons?
Z: To tell the truth, it is more difficult. But this is a challenge for me, which I accept, I will continue to work.
J: Even after the first competition it is seen that your skating skills have improved.
Z: We were working hard on this, but not it's still not enough.
J: How did you train during the summer, did you change anything in preparation for the Olympic season?
Z: With coaches and choreographers, we worked in the same way. We already have our own system of training, from which we do not change a lot.
J: You trained a lot last season, what resulted in a wonderful outcome.
Z: I am planning to work even harder this season.
J: How is this possible?
Z: It is possible. If I don't have clean skates (clean performances), it only means I have to work more.
J: Bratislava is your first competition of the season. Maybe if you would skate perfectly, it could be not very good either.
Z: But, for example, Yuzuru Hanyu broke the world record at this first competition of the season in SP! He got 112 points for his programme! I found out about it from Instagram, and my first thought was: "How did he do that!" Amazing!
J: How important the first start of the season for you?
Z: The first start is very important, as, indeed, all other competitions. And I would not say that this is the most difficult start for me. It's just a debut tournament with new programs, new dresses, which cause some unusual feelings. During the season, it all settles down, you get used to it ... But for me, the first start of the season is the biggest experience, because you have to overcome yourself. By the beginning of the season, we are not always completely ready physically and mentally. So you have to overcome yourself. The first start is a push (trigger) to the season, the first step, the first performances, which reveals the moments (flaws) on which you have to work on and refine.
J: Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy once told me how difficult it was for them to start the season as leaders because they were already famous (multiple winners) athletes and were afraid to make mistakes, because the public would start criticizing them.
Z: I know that those fans who are loyal to me will love and support me no matter how I skate.
Every new season is the beginning, new programs, and each program is a little life (small life). This is the story that we convey (create), and to make this story complete, and it would be readable without hesitation, it is crucial that words and letters do not fall out of sentences and punctuation marks are correct. After all, you would keep your attention to this, cuz it distracts from reading the story. Therefore it is very important to skate without any mistakes to be able to tell your story on the ice.

J: That's right. Thank you, Zhenya.
