Evgenia Medvedeva

She is getting so much stronger already! It's awesome that she was able to do two jumps today.

Regarding Alegria: I think it will be a fine program when we see her skate it healthy, but do you guys think it's really an Olympic program? Next year is Olympic season, and I'm not sure if she would keep a fun program like that when she is so strong at dramatic themes.

Regarding Jeffrey Buttle and Shae-Lynn Bourne choreographing her programs next year, since it is Olympic season, I would like Ilya Averbukh to do at least one if not both of her programs.

Fully agree on all points! :) I hope to see Averbukh do a program for her next year. Hopefully a long program that surpasses what he’s done for her in the past!

I’m honestly conflicted with some of his choreography. He’s had some hits and some misses (like many choreographers) but with a lot of his programs, he included a lot of pantomiming that I personally don’t enjoy. But then again, he also did her Exogenesis, so I really don’t know :ROFLMAO:

Zhenya's "Echo of Love" from today's show. Jumped 2 Salchows 🥳
Translation of Averbukh's introduction for Zhenya's program yesterday:

"Each of you who came today waited for this talented person to come out on the ice. This skater, followed by hundreds of girls who want to be just like her. And this is no less than any medal. When you are a human history, when they want to imitate you. And you keep going forward. When you are loved, adored, when millions of fans are waiting and supporting you."

The pantomiming was more Team Tut's style and not Aver's. Even Zhenya's programs with Daniil and Zhulin during thst time had pantomiming and other programs Aver did for other skaters never included pantomiming.
Also I loved the pantomiming :drama:

Yeah, I think that pantomiming is just a personal preference. I really prefer Zhenya’s programs without pantomiming as it feels more genuine to me (Tosca, MOAG, etc). But, I do agree that the pantomiming was/is Team Tut’s style. Even though Zhenya is back there, I really hope that there isn’t that much pantomiming in her programs (if she gets new ones).

Love this picture! Thank you for sharing it, and the others, Lunalovesskating. The ice show and the gala skate have been good for her - motivation to keep on training and something to work towards, yes, but also, she is getting stronger and rebuilding the muscle she lost during her illness. It must be wonderful for her to be able to perform again, and to feel herself getting better every day. I hope that she bounces back and has a good 2021-2022 season; she certainly deserves one after this past year!

That's my favorite picture, too. :)
