Bad decision that may jeopardize the rest of her career.

Her health is the important thing right now, not the medal. What a shame :shame:

Yep, I know that! I’m an athlete too! I play tennis for years and I know all about that! But, still, her health is important to me. The scenario could have been different, her foot was bothering her during the Olympics. I’m happy for her, and I know how much it meant to her to compete there! I know, but the last thing that I want is to see her compete in pain again. I don’t want that!

No one is saying we dont want her to take care of herself and recover. But they said it’s not bad enough to need surgery as long as she doesnt jump for 2 months. She didn’t jeopardize her career by going to PC, she is taking precautions and skipping WC since her foot isn’t fully healed but it’s not a career ending injury, thank god

Let’s pray for that! A surgery isn’t a good thing especially now. I hope she withdraw this Japan event too. She definitely needs to rest her foot.

Personally gutted by her withdrawal (tickets to see Ladies Free in Milan!) but definitely want Zhenya safe and sound, ready to do battle next season! Tbh, part of me is glad because I don’t know how on earth she could artistically have topped her Olympic Free so maybe a round conclusion to a heart wrenching programme and a horrible season. She’s achieved so much this year, and now I want her to get better so that we have plenty more time to coo over her skating.
Seasons and injuries like these sort the men from the boys - luckily we’ve chosen to support a fighter so I can only see this making her stronger and more determined.

Yep, but again, compete injured in the level that she did it’s not smart. One thing is for you to experience all of those things in you career, every athlete pass by. But, it’s a completely different thing when the athlete decides to compete injured, and she did that. I’m sorry if I think this way. You don’t have to agree, but for me, since I’m an athlete, I don’t think it’s a smart move, if you think in the big picture.

I may surprise you. but most of the athletes are always have something that bothers them.. some pain.. some minor or not minor injuries that they train and compete with...
it's really misconception to think otherwise.
And it's their life and choice and that choice was made when they decided to be a pro.

I love that article. The best was about Eteri that she should stop Zagitova and tell her to not doing one jump and be 2nd.

I hate people. All those stupid comments about Zhenya on her IG. I don't want to even check russian internet. Seeing those stupid trolls on youtube and instagram is too much.

After one month reading about figure skating I am sure now that healthy Zhenya would won everthing this season. It is crazy how they pump pcs. It is all about momentum.
Yes, I am salty. I can't even imagine how Zhenya is feeling right now, because she also knows that. It is unfair.

Professional sport isn't healthy and isn't about being fit. It is about being in pain and win. In most cases if you are healthy athlete it means you are not successful athlete.

My serious reply: it is good that evgenia is taking time to heal as well as just rest after a busy and probably exhausting few months. This time off will also be a time of new ideas for her and her coaches for next season’s performances. She is an artist after all, so her mind will still be imagining new ideas for the future. So this will be a time of artistic growth probably, and she and her coaches will have something great in store for next season.

My silly reply: the Tsarina deigns to allow the red ballerina one more win. She will applaud politely for her trusty sidekick. But be ready...prepare yourselves...because... later this year...the Tsarina WILL return!

Your questions should be what new and exciting programs will she have in store for us next season?

She’s got the fierce murder eyes down for the tango so I want her to do that for the short.
For the long, maybe some pure classical music. She’s got a fragile skating style as mention by Lambiel (and maybe Sandra Bezic?) which makes her even more fascinating as a skater because we all know she’s make of steel. Soft music will help emphasize that as it does with her Meditation EX.

I know by the time we reach Test Skates, I’d be happy to see anything because it would be a long time since we have last seen her skate
