I’m not creating those haters, it’s what I saw from other Russians, there’s of a number of them who loves her, so they don’t like this hate either. But, you’re right. I’ll focus for now in support her.

I have to make an admission. I never really followed Evgenia Medvedeva until the olympics. In fact, I stopped following figure skating after Michelle Kwan left. Now I have watched all of her videos from the time she was competing in junior competitions until now. Even though I'm in the US and not even Russian, I greatly admire her not only for her skating but also for her personality off the ice. She is a great athlete and a great spokesperson for figure skating. I can't even understand why people would dislike her, especially Russians. She isn't arrogant, conceited, or spiteful. She is very humble, down to earth, and grateful for her success. I hope she continues to skate for a very long time.

I can't accept it. How they don't deserve her? How do you measure the grade of "deserving" someone? Who are her "enemies/haters" in Russia? How big is that group? What is the propotion of them to her fans? Zhenya is probably the most popular athlete in Russia today and that does not change some group of idiots similar to groups in any other country. In my country many athletes have numerous groups of haters, just one unsuccesful competition is enough for them or other unluck. Like our tennis player Kvitova, when some moron attacked her with knife and cut her hand and she had to heal her wounds, there were many idiots among sport forums who blamed her that she uses it as excuse from playing and similar BS. So the thing that there are similar morons in Russia doesn't mean Russia doesn't deserve her beloved ice queen.
 
Yes, let's accept that fame comes with haters and that Zhenya is definitely strong enough to overcome it and let it make her stronger :) Let's move on shall we

Her English is improving too. When she was at juniors and Worlds 2016 all of her interviews were in Russian. Now she can talk without an interpreter. She even gave an interview on an UK channel. Do Russians take English in school? I know several countries in Europe require English to be taught. I think it would be advantageous if she ever seeks to expand her career, especially as a coach, commentator, etc.
 
I don’t think she need to change anything, actually I find her bag eyes super cute, there’s lot of pics that she looks like a kid and it’s in part because of them.

About her English, I think she learned using tv shows and movies, and she is already reading books in English too, in my opinion that’s the best way you can learn a language because of the vocabulary, and now apparently she’s speaking more, I mean not only using in interviews, but to talk to the other skaters, I mean she hanged out a lot with Canadian team.
 
Eye bags are a natural thing. She has said that she has some sleep disorders (being active at night, sleeping 12 hours after a long competition) so it's understandable.
I love her big eyes, with bags included.
In fact, in Asia the bags in the eyes are considered "cute", many Japanese and Korean make up to emulate those bags, even put a kind of putty to pretend that they have them. It's crazy.

I don't get it, why are Russians to blame for the hate she gets on English speaking forums anyway?

She's very loved by her Russian fans and she herself absolutely loves representing Russia. You can find negativity anywhere if you look for it of course, but this narrative about Russians "only sending hate to her" is patently false and pretty insulting at the same time.
