Has Zhenya a China fanpage?

I'm not sure about that because I seldom browse the forums in Mainland China. Some people will upload Zhenya's performances and documentaries to the Chinese video-sharing websites and those videos are popular, but I still haven't found any Chinese fanpage with many followers yet. But I really believe that it's hard to purchase a ticket for CoC if Zhenya is there:sad21:

I think she will prefer to do SC because it is near Toronto.

I just think that SC is definitely out. They don't have to pick her, so they won't to protect Kaetlyn.

No , I dont think so .. Rostelecom and NHK for Alina 100% , rest fo Zhenja choice

They won't want Alina to do back to back events. So one of CoR and NHK only.

I want Evgenia to do CoC and SA, and Alina to do Rostelecom and IdF, with Kaetlyn doing SC and NHK. But then Daria's chances for the final are slim and it sacrifices Polina and Maria. But really, I want Evgenia to have her full set.

I figure Kaetlyn can't do NHK because they'll have one of Satoko or Wakaba, who are in the same seed group. And Rostelecom if back to back with France, so I doubt the fed will have Alina do that.

I'm pretty sure for Kaetlyn it'll be SC and IdF. SA and CoC are back to back with SC, so they won't want her to do those, NHK is out do to seeding, and I don't see CoR picking her.

If Alina gets CoR as I assume she will, then they (fed) won't want her to do back to back events, so that takes out NHK and IdF. SC will try to avoid taking her, so SA or CoC would be most likely imo. If she gets SA, then Zhenya can have CoC and NHK back to back, or either of those with IdF. I think they won't want her to do a back to back, although at least that one is not a big time change.

If Alina gets CoC, then as I said before, then I'd guess NHK and either SA or IdF for Zhenya.

NHK normally likes to have top competitors and does less of the trying to protect their skaters, so I think they'll want one of Alina, Evgenia or Kaetlyn (who's out due to seeding).

Alina won’t get SA because she’s in the same seed as Bradie.

I think Zhenia will get ACI, SC and NHK Alina CoC and CoR, Wakaba CoC andCoR, Satoko SA and NHK, Osmond SC and TDF

As for men I go for Nathan SA and TdF, Shoma for CoC and NHK, Misha SC and CoR. Yuzuru for SC and NHK ( JSF will not miss the opportunity to keep both)

So against Osmond looks likely before the GPF.
SA+NHK is the only option for zhenya if she wants to avoid Osmond and Alina. Assuming back to back events is not what she wants.

I would prefer she goes against Alina at the CoC. RusFed unfortunately has something against it.

honestly speaking .. of course Osmond might get huge home boost in Canada but we talk about Osmond after all...she barely ever clean and at SC with two new programs , skating well.. beating Zhenia. I'd not worry too much .

I can’t wait to know the GP assignments! I think we’ll probably have to wait until
June though

A very beautiful and kind of heartbreaking video, if you haven't seen it :sad21:

I love this video so much it’s so beautiful and well made.

I hope Zhenya gets NHK and IDF as they are both close to the end but are not back to back so should give Zhenya time to improve over off season as she won’t get there for ages. Additionally at IDF she’s less likely to get biased judging that she might get at SC. If Zhenya for whatever reason is beaten at SC by Osmund that would be really bad for her rep going forward in the season

I'd agree that Evgenia shouldn't particularly worry about Kaetlyn (unless her injury has left her worse off than has been reported, but there's no reason to think that). However, there's no chance that the Canadian fed is going to invite Evgenia to Skate Canada International, precisely because she'd be favoured to win. All the feds (other than Japan, maybe) prioritize the prospects of their own top skaters. That Evgenia has a Canadian coach isn't going to change that (particularly since Orser hasn't really accumulated any chits to call in).

I do think it's likely that the two ladies will meet this Grand Prix, but it's likely to be in France, not Canada.

Of course, the real X factor in this discussion is that we don't know what the drawing order will be, so other than countries exercising their ability to select their own skaters within a seed it's all wide open. It's actually more likely that Alina would end up at SCI, if Canada is in fifth or sixth position in the draw and has to take her out of the second seeding bracket as a result.

Since Zhenya is no longer number one, she doesn't need to be perfect in every competition. Especially if she is going to work seriously on changing her technique and lose stability because of this, so there's nothing wrong with losing Osmond or someone else at the beginning.

Unless Carolina isn't competing, then Gabby would move into the same bracket as Alina, and they could take her instead.

But yes, I'm pretty confident that we'll see Alina at CoC and CoR and Kaetlyn at SC and IdF. Then Zhenya at NHK + SA or IdF. SA is more convenient travel-wise, especially since IdF is the last event before the GPF, which is in Vancouver this season. IdF has the advantage of being later in the season than SA. So we'll see.

SC doesn't seem like a good idea, since it's too obvious that Kaetlyn will get a boost (even if she falls) because she's the current world champion and will be in her country.
I would like to see her in the Cup of China, since she has never been there, and then in France, since there is a decent interval of time. I don't want her to go to NHK, I feel like they're going to invite Alina.

Another safe option, could be SA, and then France hehe (the first and the last), it's not convenient to go to Rostelecom, let that pressure to Alina.

For Challenger competitions, I think it will go to Finland (October 7), Orser mentioned it.

So, she will have around 3-4 months to train and practice her new program (that's why I would like to see her in the last competitions), my God, I am very anxious:drama:
