Because, of course, being Russian mean she can't get interest and genuinely love something that other skaters aren't into. It's impossible to think she can be a "otaku" like many teens of her age, something that is not always to the taste of other people. Same with her learning Japanese and/or being friends with JP skaters like Wakaba since Junior years. Yeah, it's all about PR and stuff. :laugh:
 
Provided the Russian federation is behind Medvedeva, they would have taken notice of 'exotic and pretty Russian female suddenly depicted through anime and goes viral because of that' phenomena. Lipnitskaya and Natalia Poklonskaya are two obvious examples. Go to pixiv and see. If they wanted to take advantage of the phenomena and propel Medvedeva's career even more, provided that's the case, the sailor moon exhibition was a good idea. I remember RT (Russian state news) loving Lipnitskaya and Poklonskaya being depicted in anime form. :love:

On the other hand Medvedeva is full of exceptional features and certain anomalies. It's pretty normal to be skeptic and suspicious given case when you look at it on paper and background.
Now, even if she was coached, she is free to do that and was probably not forced to do anything and actually enjoys engaging with the fandoms, etc. She is obviously very social and jovial. I would say, she has a very likeable personality and probably is not aware of any wrong doing because that would not make any sense.
And plus, tons would be very happy and she can look cool in the process. More power to her.

But I still believe the federation is making sure she is successful, and using their Russian style in the process :laugh:
 
The username is appropriate in this case. And no, I don't think it's normal at all to be "skeptical and suspicious" about a teenager's interest in something as common and benign as anime and Japanese culture, or to assume the Russian fed or government is involved. Paranoid, illogical and obsessive is more like it. This is not the place for crackpot theories about "Russian corruption."

anyway, happy late bday to zhenya <3 many people dont like her programs this year but I love the SP! I cant wait to see her winning everything much to the haters dismay :)
 
I really dont get what prevents these people to admit that at the moment Medvedeva is the best (not junior) female skater in the world!!?!
I mean NOBODY can jump 3-3 like her, NOBODY is more consistent and NOBODY interpretates the music better than her...
