I love everything I'm seeing. This is what you want to wake up to!
My only nitpick for the FP right now is that it looks a bit empty in terms of choreo in the beginning, until she's done with the first two jumps. Maybe they're going to add something more there later on... the choreo's very beautiful for the rest of it, though. What time does she skate? I have to figure out how late it's going to be for me
In other news! A great new interview with Zhenya: https://tass.ru/interviews/5583842
She's very thoughtful and measured in this one. Importantz parts:
- Gets asked if Eteri really advised her to end her career and Zhenya says they never talked about it, neither before nor after the Olympics, and first time she heard of it was in a "questionable interview"
- Talks a bit about getting used to Canada: the training is very different - neither better, nor worse, just a different approach. Characterises Brian as professional, demanding and calm. Says he knows how to motivate. Praises Jason and says she's very happy she got to know him better. Talks a bit about daily life - she lives in a walking distance from the rink - and so on.
- Scolds the journalists and asks them to please pay more attention to how they're writing and stop twisting the skaters' and coaches' words, because it can have a lot of negative impact on their reputation, both on the Canadian and Russian side. Points out how "They've already been in a number of situations where people's words got twisted in media to fuel a conflict". (go get them, Zhenya!)
- Says fot the millionth time that she's only going to skate for Russia
- Says how the enormous support at the test skates lifted her up, mentions how she's a bit cautious with Russian journalists because of all the negativity, but she doesn't let it bother her
- Says David calles her "a true blond" after the test skates
